Welcome to June’s Monthly Minutes at Midnight!

Here’s the deal: I’ll share the books I’ve obtained, posts of interest from others, giveaways I have happening, and just general random shenanigans. You know I love a shenanigan.  Also, covers all link to Goodreads, because I am awesome. As always, I link up with the Wrap Up Round Up, too!

Welp, I’ve been worse, eh? In fact I actually tried to cancel a couple pre-orders but B&N sent them anyway, and frankly, I was too tired to argue, so.

Huge Thanks to the publisher for this much anticipated book!

Shenanigans Since Last Time:

I read 17 books this month. That’s more like it! Of course, I am still horribly behind, but that is on me.

Pretty good bunch too! One may have been a DNF? Stay tuned!

Here are some of the loveliest/most entertaining/super helpful/just plain interesting posts I found this month!

Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

Pretty covers are pretty.

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • Look, I am going to need time to slow down. This month flew by, too! What even? Best part is, summer is here! I am so desperately in need of a break. I have officially gotten my special ed teaching certification in PA, now if you could all please send some good juju into the universe that someone, anyone calls me about a job? I am begging, friends. Anyway, Lena and my aunt Arla put together a lovely lunch celebration at a local restaurant- I was very surprised, too, which is why I look extra hoboriffic in the pictures heh. It was just nice to see family, tbh.
  • Speaking of being done with school… I started school again! Why am I like this? Anyway, I am now 2/10 classes done with my Master’s, assuming I pass these classes I just finished yesterday!
  • The kids have been very busy! Lena finished up her last year of Little League softball. It was kind of sad! They did a senior night and it was very sweet. Sam has been playing basketball and doing karate non-stop. I wish I had a fraction of his energy, tbh. Lena also got to to go to the beach with her best friend, so I am pretty jealous! Here, have a collage!
  • What have I been up to? Well, school, applying for jobs like a madwoman (see above), falling down an Ancestry rabbit hole (there was an offer for $15/three months and I plan to take advantage!), reading a ton (also see above) even though I am still behind, I have caught up a little! Also watched the final two seasons of Sweet Tooth (it was very good, if at times a bit easy, and I was so stoked to see Neil Sandilands (aka Titus on The 100) and Cara Gee (The Expanse, Extrapolations) have such big roles! I also started Dark Matter. I may finish it soon. Then I may regress to watching The 100 again, I miss it. At least until Snowpiercer comes back at the end of the month- I am so excited for us to finally get the final season!
  • The Olympic Book Tag will be back next month! Yes friends, it is the Olympics again already! And I am prepared, with the one creative thing I ever spawned! That link at the start will take you to a Google Doc if you like to plan ahead- I plan to post about a week out so you can join me! I also plan to do another The 100 post, because it has been a minute.

Have a great July, loves! Let me know how your month was! Looking forward to anything coming up?

  1. Love all the pictures. I hope you and the kids make some more amazing memories this summer. Good luck with the job search. When I was teaching, special ed was a shortage area, and with the way they over classify kids, they seem to need more and more special ed teachers. You have the new Forman. I am eager to see what she has for us. May the summer grant you the rest you need and bring some great opportunities your way.

  2. Sending job juju to the universe for you! I had an excellent reading month too but I also need a break, so am taking some time off from blogging. I am excited to travel to France next week (though missing the Olympics) and will share on the blog at some point. Have a great month!

    EXCUSES 😛😂.

I’m in awe of how much you manage to accomplish. School (SO MUCH SCHOOL), reading (SO MUCH READING), reviewing (SO MUCH…OK, you got the gist 😂). I’m crossing all my crossable body parts trying to manifest a job for you! It’s great that your kids are so passionate about sports (says the woman who used to barely do PE in high school 😅).

  4. I can’t imagine how you wouldn’t get a job! We need teachers so bad in Missouri, especially in my own school district, although there are reasons for that, like teachers leaving due to conditions. You did have a really busy month too! I need to have a nice laid back July, and I hope it goes by slowly before I’m back into the school stuff again. Here’s to July being good and slow for both of us!

  5. Thanks for the heads up on the Olympics book tag! A couple of nights ago I realized the Paris Olympics hadn’t already happened. Whoops! 😀 That should be a bit of fun to enjoy, though I don’t yet know which sports I want to watch/follow for it.

Thanks for linking my discussion post in your wrap up! And congrats on the Ancestry deal. What a fun rabbit hole to fall into!
