Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is: Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020

Fun fact: I copied this as a draft from January’s post, which was copied from the year before that, and so on as one does. Look, I could pretend to be sorry, but I am not. At all.  So I am taking the easy way out, I barely changed this paragraph even!  I’ll still link all the books and such, because I am still awesome. If you want to see all the 2020 books I added to my TBR, here they are!

I also only used books with covers, because apparently I am superficial like that. Even two three years later, when I first said that. Also, obviously some of these fit in more than one category, so I just… picked one.  Also I absolutely forgot some.

The Debuts

The Sequels

The New Series

The Standalones (includes books that might be series but I am not a psychic, so ?‍♀️)

The Ones I’ve Read (and loved!)

(This is impressive as hell, considering I am only counting 4 Stars and Above here. Get ready!)

So let’s talk! Any of these books on your to-read lists? Any glaring omissions? Do share at least one 2020 you’re giddy about!

  1. I haven’t read Katharine’s royal books, but own the first one and it sounds fun. 🙂 Hope you enjoy ALL of these, Shannon. Looks like you have a great second half of 2020 for potentially good reads. Happy Top Ten Tuesday.

  2. Wow so many of these look good. The Truth Project (okay, got me, I have no idea what it’s about but… the cover), Sara Wolf. what’s this Crown Chasers business?? Gah I’m probably gonna need a bunch of these *sigh* I clearly need to increase my reading game in the back end of 2020…

  3. THE TRUTH PROJECT is one I am also excited about. It sounds emotion and wonderful. Spoiler alerts: THE INSOMNIACS is my CWW pick for tomorrow. There are a bunch of my buzzwords in that synopsis. McGee continues to delight me with her soapy awesomeness, and I am eager to get my hands on Majesty. Hartl dazzled me with her debut, so obviously, I need more of her books. I see a lot of great books on this list (some I have, many I have been rejected for), and I hope to read most of them.

Today Tonight Tomorrow is one of my must reads for this summer. I loved Have a Little Faith in Me, so Hartl’s next book is also high on my list. So many excellent books. Good thing my TBR is digital right now or I’d risk being crushed if it tipped. Thanks for sharing all the covers!

  5. Yesss I have so many on my tbr too!! Also will add more thanks for that ?also excited for Furia and The Art of Saving The World!! Also hanging out for the new Cardan book and The Friend Scheme and Love Creekwood!

Exploding my TBR, indeed! Look at ALL those interesting debuts! I’m stoked. Thanks, as always, for broadening my TBR horizons. 😀

  7. Look, not that I’m complaining or anything, but I’m not sure what my TBR really needs is to be “exploded.” Unless we mean literally … because okay, that might take care of it. Or morph it into a giant nuclear monster, one or the other. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are, unfortunately, a lot of books that I haven’t heard of on this list, so woe to my TBR. xD The Other Side of the Sky is one I really need to read! Because Amie Kaufman, of course. :3 And I’m really looking forward to Trouble the Saints, too!

  8. Ah what a fantastic selection, thank you so much for sharing this, Shannon! <3 I can't wait to read Today Tonight Tomorrow, and am so excited about Majesty, I loved American Royals so much! I'm also happy to hear you enjoyed Now and When, I was a bit on the fence about that one, I think I'll give it a try! 😀

  9. I already wanted to read The Space Between Worlds (I wished for it on NG, as if ?), but thank you for putting The Reckless Afterlife of Harriet Stoker on my radar! Afterlife stories are my kryptonite LOL. I just requested it.

  10. Aah, the sequels section half reminds me of series I’m in the middle of and half reminds me of all the first books that I haven’t read yet ? And as usual I’m judging the debuts and new series based solely on their covers, but there are so many pretty ones!
