Welcome to February’s Monthly Minutes at Midnight!

Here’s the deal: I’ll share the books I’ve obtained, posts of interest from others, giveaways I have happening, and just general random shenanigans. You know I love a shenanigan.  Also, covers all link to Goodreads, because I am awesome.

Shenanigans Since Last Time:

I read 12 books this month. What the heck was I doing? I thought I was reading faster than this. Bad news especially because I have so many March books send help.

Most of these were really good. Way more good than not, really.

Here are some of the loveliest/most entertaining/super helpful/just plain interesting posts I found this month!

Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

My eyeballs are blessed.

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • Honestly I think I am still living in Unity Days Hangover.  Can I just live at Unity Days forever? Or like, at least Vancouver? Anyway, enjoy a picture of my signed poster, which I may have finally found a frame for!
  • Speaking of, The 100 finishes filming this month. You know, forever. And of course I am not okay. Will never be okay again, tbh. I know this seems dramatic but guys. It’s The 100. Also, we have no idea when Season 7 is happening, nor a damn thing about it. Jason hates feeding us. And I am okay with it to some extent (like please, drag this out forever honestly), but I could use a scrap or two just saying ?‍♀️
  • But we did get some The 100 Prequel newsThis is honestly the only thing that might keep me from going over the deep end, so please give it ALL the good “get picked up” vibes!
  • Scythe Bookish Games start next week! I really don’t think I thought this through, but I also know I physically cannot seem to say no to a Bookish Game, so here we are! Wish me luck and a long, long life!

Have a great March, Loves!!

  1. If you could see me, you would see I am GREEN with envy. I loved Forest’s debut, and cannot wait to read her new release. I hope you love it and all those fabulous books. Sending hugs for you during the final season of The 100. You’ll always have the memories. Have fun with the bookish games!

  2. AH you got Kristina Forest’s new book! I am SO PUMPED about this one, I adored her debut and can’t wait to read this one. I’m also happy to see you read when you were everything, I hope you enjoyed it! I really liked Woodfolk’s debut and I’m curious to read this book about friendship, we need way more of these.
    I hope you’ll have a wonderful month <3 <3

  3. I did not know there was new Ness coming out! Yay! And I am not sure how much longer book covers can keep getting more and more beautiful. Like, at some point, they have to reach a limit of gorgeousness. Remember even in a leap year, February is a short month. We would have read SO MANY MORE BOOKS in an extra day or two.

  4. Patrick Ness bringing us another novel <3 Will never NOT make me happy. And Chasing Lucky and Clap When You Land… you've got some good reads ahead of you from the looks of things. I know how much you love the 100 so I hope you will enjoy that last season when it comes to you!!

  5. I’ve got an ARC of Stealing Thunder and Burn, too, and I’m super excited to read them! They both sound fantastic. Ugh, I so feel you about the February reading. I thought I was killing this whole reading thing? But I read about the same amount as you did, which is pretty average? Did I fall into a wormhole or something that warped space and time?!

Thanks for sharing my blog post! Those covers are just splendid, too. I was so impressed with The Camelot Betrayal’s cover, even more than the first one. And Warmaidens … just yes. All the lovely colors!

    • Oh YAY I hope we both end up enjoying them! YES exactly! Though I guess it was just that it was slightly shorter? And you know, the world falling down around us? Was that happening yet? I can’t tell if this apocalypse has lasted months or decades at this point, but it is exhausting!

The Camelot Betrayal is like, next level stunning! But I agree, SO many great colors!

  6. Lisa Mandina

I got a few of the same ARCs you did, but jealous of some I do not have! I should maybe add that into my monthly wrap-up next month maybe. I need to check out your review of the First 7 since I didn’t get an arc of that one but liked the first one. Thanks for sharing the beautiful new covers as well!
Check out my February Wrap-Up at Lisa Loves Literature.

  7. Oooh, standing ovation for fiscally responsible Shannon!! It’s so hard to hold back from buying all the books, truly a godly feat. Oh. My. Goodness. I have gazed upon the cover for The Valley and the Flood and my eyes are *blessed*! Thank you for sharing my post!! I know that if I were to write a part two right now, The Valley and the Flood would definitely make the list ? I hope your March is going well Shannon!!

  8. Ahhh MORE NEW COVERS to obsess over *adds them to goodreads while my TBR yells* also so glad you got a lot read ? I read a weirdly large pile in February but March is being slow so it all evens out.
