Many Strong and Beautiful Women

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books (Or you could pick movies/tv): We’ve done this topic before so you could always do heroines you love since the last time we did this topic, heroines in a particular genre, etc.

Well, I haven’t done this topic before (must have been before my time, I suppose!) so I will do my top ten favorite heroines! Mostly from books, and you know, maybe fromThe 100, which is technically a book, though I haven’t read it.

So, did any of these heroines make your list? Who’s your favorite of all time?

  1. Katniss forever! Sorry, had to.

I think my number one would have to be Hermoine or Luna, both from HP. Luna’s kind of a weird pick but I love her. Also, Cinder. And Juliette..and about a dozen others! Awesome picks, though I admit, I haven’t read a lot of these…oops. =)

    • I wish I had read a bit further in the Lunar Chronicles, I think I would know more about Cinder. I, um, haven’t read HP beyond the first book, so I know nothing about them. Sorry! I realized that a few of these aren’t exactly mainstream picks, so it’s okay that you haven’t read them 🙂

  2. Olivia Mead was definitely a badass ahead of her time. I really want to read Ashfall and Blood Red Road. They’ve been in my tbr for a long time and I feel bad that I haven’t read them yet. Same with Not A Drop to Drink. I agree that Ivy Westfall is a strong heroine. I can’t wait for the sequel to The Book of Ivy. Great list!

    Michelle @ Michelle’s Minions

    • She sure was! And Ashfall and Blood Red Road are really great series, I hope you do get to read them soon! And Not a Drop to Drink! I cannot WAIT for The Revolution of Ivy (even the title is badass, no?)

  3. Yay Octavia! I have seen a few Clarks, whom I also love, but a list would not be complete without Octavia. She is off my list because I didn’t do characters I have only experienced on TV. Great list, thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. I think my overwhelming feeling this week is that I need to read more books. There are so many that I am seeing on multiple lists that I haven’t read yet.
    Thanks for sharing!

  5. OCTAVIA DEFINITELY. I didn’t like her at first. I felt like she was ignorant and stupid. In fact, i thought she was actually going to get killed pretty early on. But now she’s like Grounder Warrior Princess and she might be my favorite character ever.

  6. HERE HERE, FOR KATNISS. *nods* She is epic and wonderful and greatly underestimated. And plus she knows how important food is and I respect that. I sooo want to read Blood Red Road. I’ve actually only got 6 books on my immediate TBR (ahah, let’s ignore the 15 non-immediate books behind it) so MAYBE I’ll just throw everything and get Blood Red Road from the library. XD

    • She is the best! If she’d just leave Peeta alone so he could find me and we could fall in love, things would be perfect!

Blood Red Road is good! But the dialect does take a bit of getting used to, just a FYI!

  7. I definitely agree with Katniss (I love how she would do anything for her sister) and Saba (just because). Both are two of my favorite badass heroines. <3

While they're not my favorite heroines, Lynn, Sam and Octavia are still pretty awesome and strong in their own ways. 😉

  8. Dang, I’ve only read one book out of this list of heroines lol. (The Hunger Games) I definitely need to catch up! LOL My favorite heroine is Nora Sumerlin from Tiffany Reisz Original Sinners books. It’s adult bdsm fiction and she is definitely a strong woman. 🙂

  9. Omg, I loveee love your list especially how you always design them, so creative 🙂 I personally loved Katniss, Sam, and Ivy as well! LOvely post x

  10. Wow,girl, your designing skills never cease to amaze me!I can never use picmonkey like you.You are amazing!
Katniss is awesome.I personally think that she is the one who started the trend of tough and kick ass heroines. And Jennifer Lawrence plays her so well!
    Great list Shannon!

    • Aw, thank you! You have made my day, that is so very sweet! Honestly, it took me a LONG time to really get into PicMonkey, I am just starting to get the hang of it!

And I definitely agree about Katniss! She totally started the trend. And Jennifer is the perfect Katniss, I concur 🙂
