The (More Than) Ten 2015 Books I Need Most Desperately

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015

I feel like we’ve talked about sequels to death lately, so I am just going with first in series books or standalones. Also, most of these are for the first half of the year, because I don’t really know much about the latter half yet!  I totally cheated, and I am blaming formatting, but the truth is, I couldn’t pick just 10. Narrowing it to 12 was hard enough. I’m not even sorry. Oh, and these are in absolutely no order. Covers link to Goodreads!

And a bonus: 2015 books I have read and think that you need desperately (with reviews to come closer to release date, of course!)

So, which books are you desperate to read in 2015? Have you read any that I should be adding to my list?

  1. Oh! I forgot about Challenger Deep! Seriously, I can’t even handle the amount of good books coming out next year! The Scared Lie of Minnow Bly made my list too… it just sounds so interesting and a little bit creepy.
    Great List!

    • I have Challenger Deep, but I am forbidding myself from reading it until at least the new year, because I don’t want to forget anything! And Minnow Bly sounds SO weird. But in a good way. Hope we enjoy them all 🙂

  2. I have All The Bright Things on my list this week too. I have already heard great things about it. I’m also looking forward to Everything That Makes You. I’ve recently come across it and it sounds fantastic! Great list!

    • I have heard AMAZING things about All the Bright Things so far, I have preordered it. And Everything That Makes You. Fine, I have like, all but 2 books on this list either for review or preordered. And those 2 I am just hoping are at BEA 😉

  3. I loved that you named some more off-the-beaten-path books! There are a lot of sequels being mentioned tonight, so this is refreshing. 🙂 I really can’t wait for We All Looked Up. That story just sounds so heartbreaking and kind of terrifying and I feel like it will be a good cry book. And I had forgotten about Everything That Makes You. I started it when I first received it a few months ago, but since it doesn’t come out for a while it had to wait. But I was very intrigued by what I did read! And YES to Minnow Bly. I neeeeed to know what the heck is going on with that blurb. June is just TOO far away.

    • Thanks! I agree, We All Looked Up was one of my first 2015 MUST read books on my list, it sounds SO good. And Everything That Makes You… I just need it! I am glad you enjoyed the bits you’ve read. Minnow Bly sounds so, SO weird and amazing. I am worried about my bank account in 2015 for sure 🙂

  4. I’m waiting for None of The Above, All The Bright Places, Everything That Makes You, My Heart and Other Black Holes, The Secrets We Keep, Armada and so much more that my wallet’s gonna cry. There are also books which I’m waiting to be paperback (The Flight of Silvers, Some Fine Day) and books from the author I adore (Louise O’Neill, finally read the book!) and the conclusion of The 5th Wave series.

So, my wallet is not the only one who’ll cry but also me.

    • Wait, time out- Louise O’Neill has a new book coming out!? I must have it! (Off to Goodreads I go!) Did you love Only Ever Yours? (I just checked Goodreads- you did! And it clearly broke your heart too. Ugh, that book!)

Some Fine Day was so good, and seriously, how broke are we going to be? Cardboard boxes, under a bridge, but reading some GREAT books 😉

      • I love it even if it destroyed every part of me. And yes, from what I’ve saw in interviews, she’s writing another book – contemporary with dark themes in it (I think there’s rape culture). I guess it’s coming out in August 2015. Not so sure. And if there’s anything that could be better, she followed me on Twitter!

I’m gonna be like MC Hammer broke (White Chicks, yes) but happy with great books surrounding me.

  5. Ember in the Ashes and Fire Sermon sound really good! I’m not sure about When. I hadn’t heard of the Sin Eater’s daughter before, but an executioner with Rogue (x-men) type powers, sounds so cool!

The Darkest Part of the Forest made my list, so I’m really happy that you liked it! I haven’t read any 2015 books yet.

    • I was a little nervous about The Darkest Part of the Forest, because of the faerie thing, but I loved it! And I think you will enjoy it too, it is one of those books that literally has something appealing to everyone!

  6. Great list, Shannon. I have Challenger Deep arc, I can’t wait to read it. All The Bright Places and The Sin Eater’s Daughter sounds great as well.

  7. An Ember in the Ashes! I am SO excited for that book it’s not even funny 😀 I’ve kind of been interested in The Glass Arrow; I’ll be reading some more reviews before I decide whether or not I read it. And I have The Sin-Eater’s Daughter on my list today as well!

I’ve read All the Bright Places and The Darkest Part of the Forest, and they’re both AMAZING. Definitely agree that they need to be on everyone’s lists 😀

    • I have heard really good things about An Ember in the Ashes, PLUS, how pretty is it? And I have heard a few good things about The Glass Arrow, but I have wanted it for a long time, just sounds like my kind of book. (Though I have heard some mixed reviews too, so we’ll see!)

I am so glad you liked All the Bright Places too, I hear such good things. And I agree, The Darkest Part of the Forest was SO good!

  8. I wish I had gone ahead and let my list go over 10. Every week I think it’s hard to pare it down to just 10 books, but this topic is especially difficult to cut down. And even with that in mind, I keep coming across books on other lists that make me want to scream because I have to wait to read them. Case in point: All the Bright Places. I really want to read that now. Luckily, that one will be here soon!
    Here’s my TTT post.

  9. Several of the books on your list are brand new to me, but I see a couple I’m personally excited about – namely Everything That Makes You and Challenger Deep – even though they didn’t make my top 10. 🙂

    My StS!

  10. I’m really excited for All The Bright Places as well, I have it on reserve at my library for when they get it. 🙂 It’s “On Order” which may or may not (mostly like is) be due to me. An Ember In The Ashes and The Secrets We Keep sounds really good as well.

  11. I haven’t heard of most of these, but I desperately want All The Bright Places! The Cage and The Darkest Part Of The Forest, both also look really good. There’s too much awesome coming out next year!

  12. I’m jealous that you already read The Darkest Part of the Forest! I’m looking forward to that one. This is the second time I’ve seen The Scared Lies of Minnow Bly today! I’ve added it to my TBR. I’m loving that cover for Everything That Makes You, too.

  13. Is it sad that I haven’t heard of any of these titles? Yes, yes it is. The covers for all of them ARE BEAUTIFUL! Oh I do want to read All the Bright Places.

    😀

  14. 2015 IS GOING TO BE SUCH AN EPIC YEAR FOR YA. There’s SO MANY books I want. 😀 From your list, I’m really looking forward to ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES. I NEED THAT BOOK IN MY LIFE. I also want to read An Ember in the Ashes, The Cage, The Sin Eater’s Daughter and The Darkest Part of the Forest (I think I have a review copy coming, so yay!) I haven’t looked into any of the others before, but that’s what I’m going to do now…no doubt my TBR will grow, so thank you for that! 😉 Hahaha.
