Oh Christmas Tag!

xmas

I have been tagged by Cait @ Paper Fury to do this happy little Christmas Tag! It has rules, but you know how that goes. I’ll do my best, for the sake of festivity:

The Rules:
– Post the picture on your blog.
– Answer the questions.
– Tag up to 12 bloggers.
– Make up 10 questions for the other bloggers.

So, I have to break Rule #1 because Cait didn’t have a picture. Well, that isn’t true. She did. But it was her own picture, and stealing isn’t nice. I made my own. Whatever.

1. What does your Christmas Tree look like? Like this:IMG_3640
2. What are you reading in December? (Anything festive?) Currently, I am reading Soulprint by Megan Miranda, which while enjoyable is decidedly not festive. But I am also reading this, which is: IMG_3668
3. Are you an organised little elf or are you still shopping/preparing on Christmas Eve? Usually, organized. Annoyingly so. But this year… well I fail this year. Luckily I did shop early, but the wrapping? Not so much. There are no cookies, there are no wrapped presents. I’m a general Christmas Mess.

4. How early do you start to get into the Christmas spirit? Well. I don’t like Christmas music. At all. So that doesn’t happen. But I like to get a good start on decorations and trees and lights and such right after Thanksgiving.

5. Do you make any Christmas crafts? Decorations? Send physical Christmas cards? I am the worst craft maker in all the land. No really, I promise this is true. I leave the decor to real craftspeople, and purchase things from them. It saves time, sanity, E.R. visits, etc. I do send Christmas cards though, for I love them! Want to see? Pretend I have mailed this to you.

6. What’s the menu for Christmas Day?! My grandma makes ravioli, like from scratch. I didn’t know until nearly adulthood that this was weird. My other grandma used to make a more “normal” dinner, though she usually made chicken fingers and potatoes for me, so maybe it wasn’t so normal either.

7. What makes it FEEL like Christmas for you? (Weather, specific tradition, food, smell, person, etc.?) Um. Overcrowding while shopping, cold weather,  and scraps of wrapping paper galore. And Christmas-scented candles. Yum.

8. Do you have relatives coming? Excited? Nervous? Nope. No one will come to our house because we live a whole (gasp) 45 minutes away. You’d think it was a different continent. Most of my relatives live within 5 minutes of where they grew up, so yeah. My in-laws will be coming, but not until the new year (what a way to start 2015, huh?)

9. What famous Christmas character do you most identify with? (Scrooge, Elf, Tiny Tim, the Grinch, Santa, etc.) I am an odd mix of Santa and The Grinch I think. I mean, I love buying presents and such, but I am not really into the holiday music, movies and that sort of thing. tumblr_mdydrzUdkg1rubz4io8_250
10. If you were to start a new Christmas tradition, what would it be? Well, Ebony @ Daring Damsels posted about how she and her family go around looking at lights, and I want to do that! I love Christmas lights, and my grandparents used to drive my brother and I around, so I would like to do it now too. Thanks for the idea, Ebony! OH, and I want to make Christmas cookies! But then like, eat them. We weren’t allowed to eat more than like, two when I was growing up. Ever. So now, I want to eat them.

Okay, now my turn to tag and ask questions! I don’t know how many people I am tagging. I am not counting. I also looked back at Cait’s post so not to duplicate. I am also trying to not tag people who I know are off doing way more amazing things. Also, these totally apply even if you don’t celebrate Christmas. Just sub in some other holiday! I am an equal opportunity tagger, after all. I tag:

And the questions:

1.  What is one gift you remember wanting really badly as a kid? Did you get it?

2. What do you want now? What is your ultimate Christmas wish?

3. Best holiday-themed book you’ve read?

4. Do you like Christmas movies? Which is your favorite? Or are you all Grinchy like me?

5. Do you dress up for the holidays, or go for comfort?

6. What is the best gift you have ever given someone else? Tell us about it!

7. Are there any holiday traditions or customs specific to your region, country, etc? If so, do tell!

8. Book boyfriend that you’d love to see with a bow under the tree?

9. Did you do anything special so far to celebrate? Maybe made some cookies, decorated, etc? Show us!

10. Which book do you really want to find its way to your house for Christmas?

Go forth and play!

  1. I’m a bit of the grinch this year, I didn’t even put up Christmas tree hehe. Really though my husband and I were afraid that our 1 1/2 year old would pull it over on herself. I really need to get My True Love Gave to Me, I’ve been seeing that book everywhere 🙂

  2. Haha, ah I love this tag! It’s perfect for me because not only am I behind on posts, but I also love Christmas and tags!

The Grinch and Santa? That’s definitely an odd combination! Honestly, I’d say I’m probably Buddy the elf from Elf… =)

Thanks so much for the tag I’ll be doing it right away! Hope you have an awesome holiday!
