Top Ten Characters Who Require Their Own Books

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Characters You Wish Would Get Their OWN Book (minor or just maybe a semi main character you wish a book was from their POV)

2767052

1. Peeta Mellark, The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins I would buy this book for any amount of money Ms. Collins felt like charging. If she asked me to fork over more than I had, I would sell my kidney or something.

17453303

2. Ellie Heffner, Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future by A.S. King I need to know a few things: What was this girl thinking, and also, life on the weird hippie commune would be just too intriguing.

134557823. Kenji Kishimoto , Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi Dude is funny, and reading a book in his perspective would be a trip! He’d get involved in some shenanigans for sure too.

118700854. Augustus Waters, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green He’s just so… lovely. Though the end would be absolute hell to read, perhaps even worse than Hazel’s version. But still, Augustus!

203068045. Liz Emerson, Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang Here’s the thing: This was not my favorite book, because I hated Liz. But I do wonder if I would have felt something more than disdain for her if the story had been through her POV.

64427696. Radar, Paper Towns by John Green In my initial review of Paper Towns, I said that if John Green wrote a book called Radar and the Black Santas that I would buy it. And I would, so I have to honor that by including it on my list. It wouldn’t actually just be about Radar, but the whole gang.

177208297. Joseph Hawkins, Creed by Trisha Leaver and Lindsay Currie I want to know more about him, and honestly, more about the awful cult. I need more details, people!

129739648. Iko, Cinder by Marissa Meyer So, I just finished Cinder, and I loved that android! Don’t tell me if her personality chip lives on, I am hoping to find that out later! But, I think Iko has all the good gossip, she sound like my kind of ‘bot.

182854379. Drill Sergeant Dean Stamm, Rites of Passage by Joy N. Hensley I adored him. I want to know more things about him. To be honest, I just really, really want another book in this world, okay? Pretty please?

1574918610. The Boys, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han That would be an absolute trip. I would love to get some insight, especially into Josh and Peter. Novella idea, anyone? Just saying.

Do tell: Which character would you most enjoy a novel from the perspective of?

  1. Iko is totally awesome, one of my favorite characters from Cinder! I would love to read something from her POV! I actually picked Haymitch from HG but Peeta would work just as well.lol Great list!

  2. A book told in Augustus’ point of view would be heartbreaking. Certainly towards the end, it was hard enough when it was told in Hazels’ perspective so I don’t know if I could handle it. But it would still be amazing!

  3. I nearly put Peeta and Iko on my list. XD But I haaad to switch Iko for Thorne because OMG THORNE. He’s a devious wonderful thing and I just think if he narrated a book it’d be so full of win and absolute narcissistic narration. x) Peeta would be perfection. He’s so sweet. BUT IN THE CAPITOL?!! Like what really went down in Mockingjay?! I WANT TO KNOW.

  4. Hahahahh I think it would be hilarious to see the POV of all the boys in To All the Boys I’ve Loved before (I mean I haven’t read the book yet, but still, it’s a good idea). AND YOU FINALLY FINISHED CINDER GAHHH. Wasn’t it great! But yeah, I would love to see the POV of Iko, she’s definitely one of my favorite characters in the series 😀

    • I would love it- almost like response letters! “Dear Lara Jean…” Yes, yes. I loved that book!

Cinder was really good! I had no idea there would be all the disease stuff, and the political stuff. I was very pleasantly surprised! I can’t wait to move along to Scarlet, once I am done with my 452 review books that I “had” to have 😉

  5. Peeta made my list too! I was more thinking of the first book, because I’m not sure I want to be with him in Mockingjay, but I think there’s more depth to his character than we could see from Katniss’ perspective. I can’t believe I didn’t think of Iko! She’s my favorite character from that series too! Her story would be so funny!

  6. Iko and Drill Sergeant Stamm, well I would read those two like right now! I’d even might want to read them as a fan fiction, okay, maybe not, but YES, those two deserve their own books! Also, I wouldn’t mind a book for Augustus, Kenji or Peeta. As for the rest, I still have to catch up with those books. Great picks Shannon!

  7. SOMETHING FROM THE POV OF PEETA? *fangirls* I WISH THAT WAS A THING! Gosh…that would be absolutely fantastic, wouldn’t it? 😀 And something from Iko’s POV would be absolutely hilarious. 😉 Thanks for sharing Shannon, and great choices! <3

    • That NEEDS to be a thing. We could beg and plead for it to be a thing? To be honest, I think Suzanne Collins is pretty awesome for NOT milking THG for every last penny. She could have written like, 30 books in that world and people would have bought them (myself included!) but she told her story, and she ended it, and I think she is a very, very classy woman. I mean, I would still totally read them if she was inspired someday, but I find it quite honorable that she never forced them.
