Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR.

Here’s the deal: I always (fine, usually) read two books at once: One physical book, one ebook. So I am splitting this list of course. And I don’t know how many of these are “Winter TBR” as much as they are “Read ASAP”. How will I whittle it down to ten? Absolutely no idea. Will I stick to this list? Without a doubt, no. But I mean, I’ll give it a try.

Physical TBR:ttttbr

1. Captive by Aimee Carter I will be digging into this bad boy ASAP, since it should be arriving on my doorstep today.

2. Landry Park by Bethany Hagen Don’t judge, but the main reason I want to read this is so I can have an excuse to buy the gorgeous Jubilee Manor. Also, I bought this over a year ago, and I want to read it.

3. Whisper by Chris Struyk-Bonn I won this from Kaitlin @ Reading Is My Treasure awhile ago. And I am honestly scared to read it, even though I really, really want to. I just don’t know if I can handle the feels it is bound to bring up.

4. Survival Colony Nine by Joshua David Bellin I have wanted to read this book for ages too, but I just keep ending up reading something else for whatever reason. I need to get to this one, ASAP!

5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor So I know what people are talking about, basically.

Ebook TBR (which basically should read: Books I Have For Review With Release Dates Soonish)ttttbre

1. I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

2. Soulprint by Megan Miranda

3. When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez

4. Inherit Midnight by Kate Kae Myers

5. The Fire Sermon by Francesca Haig

Bonus: Books I Need to Rereadth (2)

Mockingjay Part 1 made me do it.

So, which books are on your winter TBR lists? And be honest: What are the chances you’ll stick to them? (My chances are like, 2%. And I am being generous.)

  1. ahaha… I’m hoping to have a higher probability than yours of sticking to my TBR list. lol 🙂 Heather Demetrios is pretty popular in this week’s list and understandably so. I haven’t read any from her yet, I’ll Meet You There will be my first, but it just sounds amazing. I’m really hoping I like it. Thanks for sharing.

    Here’s my TTT 🙂

    • Haha I am so, so bad with TBRs. Like, I’ll make them when I am in one mood, and by the time I should be starting my next book, I am over it. I have tried TBR jars too, but I just ended up arguing with them (which is probably not even sane). Hope we both enjoy I’ll Meet You There!

  2. I have several on my winter TBR list. I hope I can get to them. I am going home for the holidays and I usually read a LOT at my in-laws, mainly because they love reading so much too. I hope to get a lot of reading done.

  3. There are some really great books you want to read! I’ve also wanted to read Laundry Park since it got out. Maybe we should do a buddy read or something! Oh, and enjoy Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I only read it a little bit earlier this year, but I loved it!

  4. DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE. Put this to the top, so you can know what people are talking about and then devote the next few weeks to reading the sequels and getting paper cuts from flipping the pages so fast.

    • Bwahaha I love this! I just might end up doing that (since I own Days of Blood and Starlight too, I wouldn’t even have to wait!) since Captive didn’t arrive and I am tearing through In a Handful of Dust!

  5. Soulprint and When Reason Breaks look fantastic!

I hadn’t previously heard of Jubilee Manor but I looked it up and whoa, that cover is stunning. Looks like I’ll be reading Landry Park as well =)

    Here’s my TTT

    • Isn’t it amazing? And of course, it is really different from Landry Park (which is annoying because no one likes mismatched covers!) but I am even more excited about the series now!

  6. I know ten is way too few for a want to read as soon as I can list!

Yes to Daughter of Smoke and Bone! 🙂 I have to read the first Captive. Soulprint could be good, and The Fire Sermon.

Yes, there is always time for a reread!

Chances are I will read 1 or 2 books on my list, which is me being optimistic.

  7. Well considering at least two books on my list were also on my Summer and Fall TBR, I think it’s about a 15% chance that I actually read them…though I really really want to!

You have to read Daughter Of Smoke and Bone, it’s so good! Also, thanks, now I want to re-read Hunger Games too!

    • Hahha yes! That is exactly how mine are- same books every season with a few new ARCs thrown in for good measure 😉 And once you see Mockingjay, you’ll understand- I had no choice!

  8. I have an eARC for Inherit Midnight and can’t wait to read it! I’ll Meet you There sounds great as well. I hope that you are able to read all of the books on your TBR pile 🙂

  9. Ah, I hope Captive arrived today (well yesterday)! I’ve seen a lot of bloggers with an E-ARC of it. Somehow, I’m not crazy about it though. I don’t know why. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a book I want to read too.

I’ll Meet You There! That’s a book I want to read, but alas, I’ll probably wait until the library gets it in a few months. I really like the cover for When Reason Breaks, the font and blurriness is really nice. I need to read it for review as well. I don’t know the rest of your books. 🙁 I’ll Goodreads them though!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, those foil editions of The Hunger Games are completely gorgeous! Christmas Present to myself? Yes, I do believe that will be the case. 🙂

The odds of me sticking to my Winter TBR list is the same as me sticking to my Fall TBR list…zero. 🙁 Except for the review books! I’ll definitely do those!

    • Nope, no Captive 🙁 Amazon said it might not come until Christmas! Um, no. I canceled the order and reordered at BAM, and it’s already on its way.

OH- and the foil edition price has gone WAY down too, so if you do get them, you’ll get a good deal 🙂

  10. The chances of me sticking to my Winter TBR is 50%, I mean I haven’t checked back on my Fall TBR, but I just know Throne of Glass is on there, which I haven’t touched even though it’s on my shelf. DUDE YES READ DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE 😀

  11. Glad to hear you’re looking forward to Captive, Shannon! I received Pawn last Christmas, but haven’t read it yet…I think I read the first 30ish pages and enjoyed the though. Whisper looks very intriguing and I am looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Landry Park. Landry Park has been on my TBR since it’s publication but I haven’t heard much about it…only just realised we have a title and cover for book #2 and it’s gorgeous – yet another cover change though, grr!

REEEEALLLY looking forward to your review of I’ll Meet You There. After reading Something Real earlier this year, I need more Heather Demetrios contemporary. And I say contemporary as it sounds as though her fantasy book isn’t doing too well, unfortunately. I still plan on reading it though. The cover for Soulprint has me intrigued, so I’ll be looking forward to your review of that one, too. 🙂

  12. SHANNON. READ DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE ASAP.

I’m really excited about Captive, but gosh I feel like I don’t remember anything from Pawn, even though I loved the book. I definitely need a refresher before continuing that series. And oh, I forgot about Whisper! I remember hearing about that for the first time on Kaitlin’s blog and it sounds SO GOOD. You should probably read that soonish (after DoSaB, of course), so I know how it is.

AND I’LL MEET YOU THERE IS FREAKING AMAZING SO I HOPE YOU LOVE IT AND STUFF.

I’m always reading more than one book at a time, so I’ll probably switch it up from ARCs to “me” ones and mood is also a factor in this, so let’s be honest, there’s a very small chance I’ll stick to my winter TBR plan.
