Spotlight on Sequels: Until the Girl Unlocked

Spotlight on Sequels is a feature where I get will gush about some sequels I am excited for.  I’ll highlight a few upcoming sequels, the other books in the series, and of course, hope to hear your opinions on these series! Can we just talk about how amazing 2015 is for books in general, and of course, sequels I need?
Onto the Sequels!!

336 pages
Expected publication: May 5th 2015 by HarperTeen
Synopsis:

When Juneau’s clan disappeared, she lost so much more than her friends and family. She soon discovered everything she thought she knew about her life was a lie. Her people’s gifts were actually secret abilities that others wanted, desperately enough to kidnap an entire village.

Juneau and her new companion Miles’s cross-country journey to find her clan has led them to a game preserve in New Mexico. Now Juneau’s people are finally within reach, and she will stop at nothing to save them. But she has a target on her back too, because unbeknownst to her she is the key to unlocking everything. To rescue her people – and herself – Juneau must discover what she, and her abilities, are truly capable of.

Um, because I need to find out where the clan ran off to. Of course! And all sorts of other unanswered questions that I won’t list, because spoilers.

Series: Nil (#2)
432 pages
Expected publication: May 12th 2015 by Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)
Synopsis:

On the island of Nil, the rules are set. You have exactly 365 days to escape—or you die. Rives is now the undisputed Leader of Nil City, but keeping the City united is tougher than ever.

Raiders have grown bolder, supplies are dwindling, and non-human inhabitants have taken a turn toward the deadly. New arrivals cause rifts within the City, putting the Search system at risk, and calling everything Rives knows into question. Desperate for answers, he teams up with the only other person searching for them: Skye, a new arrival with a mysterious past of her own. Soon the duo find themselves locked in a desperate race to save all the residents of Nil—and possibly destroy the island forever. But at what cost? And who will pay the price?

Again, there are questions that I need answers to. I am very intrigued because this book will be from different POVs than the first. So excited! Also, I adore the cover, and request a full sized poster to hang in my room or something.

384 pages
Expected publication: August 4th 2015 by Wendy Lamb Books
Synopsis:

As sixteen-year-old Leilani and her family learn to live without electronics, farming the land as her ancestors did, she finds strength in her relatives, her friendships, and her strange connection to the Emerald Orchid–the force whose presence caused global devastation–but suffers regret over what she must do to survive.

An exciting and satisfying sequel that continues the thrilling ideas and adventure of THE ISLANDS AT THE END OF THE WORLD.

Native Hawaiian mythology and history is beautifully intertwined in the story.

An eco-thriller by an expert: great choice for dystopian fans who want a new spin. The author has a masters in tropical conservation biology from the University of Hawaii-Hilo.

This cover. My goodness. The Islands at the End of the World was so uniquely refreshing, and so full of action, and so refreshing, of course I cannot wait for this one!

Which series sequels are you very excited for? Have you started any of these series? Do you wonder how we are supposed to wait for sequels while maintaining human functioning levels? (Seriously.)
