Here are some of the loveliest/most entertaining/super helpful/just plain interesting posts I found this month!

Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

Pretty covers are pretty.  Also holy covers. (Also, thanks to Tammy for putting These Deathless Shores on my radar!)

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • I have no idea what to say here. The month as a whole wasn’t bad or anything, I just… feel off? So I used to be one of those Birthday Bitches™- you know, the ones who get giddy excited about their birthday for weeks or months in advance? I have become less so as I get older, but the past couple have left me not just feeling less excited, but really down. I don’t know why, I just.. did? So I am trying to get out of that funk, I suppose. Life is not helping, just… so much dumb stuff going, well, not my way. Speaking of, I preordered this GORGEOUS set of UK Hunger Games books. And they never showed up. And Blackwells said they never will, because they didn’t receive enough copies to fulfill the order. I’ll be refunded, which is cute, because now people are selling them from $600-1k 🙄😭
  • I have (kind of) finished student teaching! 🥳🥳 Okay look, I still have to do a bunch of work to turn in for it, and literally nothing changes and I keep going to my job just like always but… it seems like a milestone, yeah? Speaking of my job, I only have four weeks left there and I am really quite sad! I become attached too easily, guys. Especially when I know shit is supposed to be temporary! I am also almost done with classes- I only have 2.5 to go!
  • What else? Thanksgiving came and went without much fanfare, but it is nice to have holidays again! And the break was so necessary! Now just a few more weeks to get through until Christmas!
  • Conageddon 4 tickets went on sale! Who did I choose for VIP this time around? It was a tough call, but you bookish folks will love my choice, as she is the founder of her very own book club called Feed Your Mind, the always lovely Luisa d’Oliveira, aka, Emori!

Have a great December, loves! Let me know how your month was! Looking forward to anything coming up?

  1. Congrats on being kind of done with student teaching! That’s disappointing about the special edition books. Also, it’s kind of impressive that people are spending 1k on books. Imagine having that kind of disposable income. I hope you have a great December!

  2. Finishing your student teaching is absolutely a milestone. You survived! and are one step closer to getting certified. *high five* Things may seem a bit meh right now, but at least you have Conageddon to look forward to, right? Hang in there and ((HUGS))

  3. These dEathless shores looks awesome. I think I saw it at Tammy’s too. 🙂 That is a bummer about the books. And congrats on the classes!

Thanksgiving was kind of low key here, too, surprisingly. And I’m so happy you picked Emori! 🙂

    Have an amazing weekend 🙂

  4. I got distracted like halfway through your post when I clicked one of your links. And then I started adding books a list and was like… That book. By that author. I know what and who I’m thinking of, just can’t remember the title or their name. Then I came back to your post to finish reading it, and the book I was thinking of was Key Lime Sky, so thank you lol.

  5. “Look, preorders happened, and Black Friday deals happened, and what’s a girl to do?”
    Right! 😂

I’m looking forward to your review of The Never-Ending EOTW – it was one of my favourite books this year!

The birthday thing is sad…even when life is boring and depressing, birthdays should always mean something. They are OUR days. I hope you’ll get excited for them again in the future – and happy belated BTW!

Congrats on finishing student teaching! Even if nothing technically changes for you, I’m sure the experience has done a lot to boost your morale and amplify your confidence…

    Happy Conageddon!

  6. Ahh so many books here! I am intrigued about that Annie Leblanc book, sounds so unique!
all the congratulations on finishing student teaching, yay! And I so get it about getting attached too quickly, this really is bothering when it happens. Wishing you all the very best for what’s next, and for this upcoming December!! <3 <3

  7. Congrats on finishing the student teaching! And I feel you on the book deals haha I also acquired a couple new books 🙈 I got some good ebook deals recently, so lots of new ones as well! I read The Dead Romantics, I thought it was cute 🙂

  8. Wowzers, so many great books! Louisa’s gonna be so much fun to chat with- I can’t wait to hear what books and reading stuff you talk about. 🙂

Also…Cait has a new book! I’m so happy about this- thanks for putting it on my radar! And congrats on the culmination of so much extra work. You’re right, it DOES mark an accomplishment. And that’s worthy of celebrating your hard work and persistence.
