Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

Pretty covers are pretty.

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • Who is extra sick of show cancellations? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️Legit, I am cancelling Netflix (after Manifest, let’s be real) because I am so tired of falling in love with shows and never having any closure. 1899 is the newest one, but I am still salty over all of the following, from various streaming services: The Wilds, The Society, Travelers, The 100 Prequel which I am counting even though it never actually aired, The Passage, Panic, Away, and the one that makes me the most stabbiest, Snowpiercer, which TNT refuses to air even though it is fully finished
  • It’s 2023, that is scary! And still, the time flies by! January was okay. It didn’t actually snow at all, but we had a few snow days, so I’ll allow it. Not too much else in the way of excitement, but Happy New Year, friends!

Have a great February, loves! Let me know how your month was! Looking forward to anything coming up?

  1. That David Arnold book was not on my radar. Now it is. Shows being canceled before I got closure was one reason I stopped watching TV in 2019. I am so sad that I will never know how some stories end. You me and endings. I am not sad that it hasn’t snowed, though I am surprised you didn’t get any out your way. You are further west than me. Love the picture. Super cute as always

Happy new year! Glad you guys haven’t been hit with any snow yet. We got our first (super light) dusting yesterday. I just set myself a whole bundle of new 2023 goals, so chances are good I won’t be diving into too many new shows this year, but yikes, that’s a lot of cancellations. Probably for the best that I usually don’t jump in until they’re on rerun status so I know it’s already complete, lol. Hope February is off to a good start for you and the family!

  3. Definitely see some books in there that I’m excited to read your reviews on! Glad it hasn’t snowed for you yet! I live in southern California where it does not snow but it’s been cold for this so cal girl lol I’ve had the heater on like every night (our gas bill is insane this month oops) Happy reading!

  4. I was just thinking about the cancelation thing! I used to watch tons of TV shows. Now I barely watch any. I think it’s partially because I’m reluctant to get invested in something that will probably disappear after one season.

  5. Love the NYE pic! We haven’t had a lot of snow or anything this year either. My big gripe about cancellations is that they’re only doing two more seasons of Outlander when there are several more books! And they kept Game of Thrones going after there were no more books! Ugh. I’m reading Daughters of Oduma right now. I’ll have to see what you thought of it!

  6. It’s like a cancelationpocalypse out there right now. It’s brutal. They should at the very least let the shows wrap-up. They’re even just throwing away stuff they’ve already filmed. It’s ridiculous.

TV (streaming) was finally getting so interesting with all the diversity & I think they’re just going to go back to throwing money at the same generic 5 shows/creators and all it’s sequels/prequels/spin offs. Makes me sad.

  7. I’ve honestly lost trust with Netflix, I can’t get excited about any of their shows as they always cancel the good ones. Between that and the rumours swirling about them limiting people to one account per user I just don’t know how much longer I’ll keep it for. With the number of streaming services now I feel like there are too many and I should go back to pirating everything.

  8. You know how I feel about cancelations… I think Karen nailed it with the cancelation apocalypse tag. Yup, going with that. Your list though… just makes me mad all over again! 🙂 I honestly don’t know what Netflix even has to offer us anymore…

Death of a Dancing queen I’ll have to look into…

  9. I was so proud when I saw how few books you requested/purchased/received this month! Look at you go!

And now I’m so curious to know which book you DNFed and why!

Thanks so much for mentioning my post! Getting the notification was honestly a great reminder for me to come back and actually write a blog post, since I’ve been gone for a few weeks accidentally. Ooops!

Hope you have a great month in February!

  10. Ohhh which was the DNF? Yeah, it didn’t snow here, either. And now it’s in the 50s and early flowers are blooming so I guess that’s that. 🙁
I hear you on the cancellations. Why on earth would they not air a fully finished series??! UGH
