Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

Pretty covers are pretty.

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • What the heck happened in May?  Guys I have no idea. I feel like… maybe nothing? ?‍♀️ Lena did get her green belt in karate, so that was good. Sammy had to miss a month when he had his surgery, and they were worried he’d be too far behind so he’ll hopefully get his later in the summer. My parents opened their pool so hopefully we can go swimming soon. That’s really it, it was a slow month!

Lena got her green belt and Sam got… ice cream and a haircut?

Have a great June, loves! If you had any fun stories, do share!

  1. Congrats on reading 13 books! I’m glad you enjoyed most of them. I agree with you that nothing happened in May. I’m not even going to post a wrap up because I worked and did nothing else all month. Congrats to Lena on her green belt! Have a great June.

  2. We opened my parents’ pool last weekend hoping to spend the holiday weekend in it but it turned super chilly this weekend. So instead I’m working through my to do list for the house and yard so that I won’t feel as guilty when the weather warms and I spend all my time in the pool. Check out what I read this month at Girl Who Reads

  3. Up All Night looks awesome! Short stories about the wee hours? I’m in! Your books all look good, as usual. You’re reminding me that I still need to get Girls with Rebl Souls. How do I keep forgetting that one? Was it awesome? I imagine it was. I think you mentiond it was pretty good?

Congrats to Lena (and Sam, too, frankly, because ice cream)!!

    • It’s really good so far, I have enjoyed the 3 stories I have read. Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow and I will let you know! Well. I am selling Girls With Rebel Souls (or trying to bwahahah)? So maybe that is an indication of how I felt about it. Like- it was fine. It was quick. It was… not earth shattering?

Green belt is awesome! And it sounds like everything went okay with the surgery, so that’s good too! May was kind of a weird month . . .

I LOVE these pictures. Both your kids look so happy in them (especially Lena – congrats to her!). You read a lot of books I am interested in, and you got a copy of Your Life Has Been Delayed (lucky!). Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. PS Thanks for sharing my post.

  6. Congrats to Lena! I’m so ready to go swimming but it’s suddenly gotten a bit cold and rainy again around here. Sigh. Looks like you got a lot of great books this past month though, so yay!

May was a weird month – not as busy and full for me as April had been though. Lots of great looking books and lovely covers!

Visiting from the monthly wrap-up #8

  8. Looks like you had lots of great reads in May! I enjoyed the link about dystopian fiction. This is not a genre I read from much, but I learned something and picked up a few recommendations. Also enjoyed the link about big books. I am not a fan either. I think there are just too many books I want to read and I know a big book is going to take me longer.

Hope you have a great June and get some swimming in!

    • Aw thank you, I am so glad that you enjoyed the links! I am a huge dystopian fan and I feel like it is due for a resurgence heh. And that is exactly how I feel- too many books to be worried about a thousand pages of just one ? I hope you are having a wonderful June too!

  9. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on It All Comes Back to You! I’m so excited for that book! Also, what were your thoughts on Project Hail Mary? I’m debating whether or not I should read it. On the one hand, I loved The Martian, but on the other, it’s been a while since I read sci-fi.

Thanks for mentioning my post! I can’t wait for next month when I’ll hopefully be sharing some of the posts that I enjoyed as well! It’s so nice to finally be back and blog hopping again!

Of the pretty covers you mentioned, I think that Weather Girl is my favorite! It’s just so simplistic yet detailed at the same time! I love it!

    • I am so excited for It All Comes Back To You, I looooved the author’s debut! So. I LOVED Hail Mary. Loved loved loved. It IS pretty heavily sci-fi, but I think it’s worth it.

I am glad you are back too! It must be SO hard to balance with school and such. I agree, Weather Girl had a great use of colors that made it pop, I think!

  10. May just breezed by for me because I got so busy with job-hunting! Now I’m sort of glad that’s all behind me! LOL! Congrats on reading 13 books! And those pretty covers! Gah! I love them all!

  11. Awww thanks for including me in the blogosphere and…ya know….making me add another dozen books to my TBR. 😀
I have no good stories from May, sadly, but today my friends visited with their 10 week old puppy, so that’s my month, right there.

  12. Looks like you had a great reading month in May! You have some great books lined up. Some books I’m especially looking forward to are It All Comes Back to You, You’ve Reached Sam, and Klara and the Sun. Love the cover for A Magic Steeped in Poison.

May was rather unremarkable here too. We had winter weather for Mother’s Day again this year. I’ve always wished we could switch our day with Father’s Day in June just for the warmer weather. I finished reading Your Life Has Been Delayed this past week (I won’t spoil anything here) and I also read Switch by A.S. King and I’m not really sure what I read (it felt like a weird dream the entire time).
