I’m not going to lie, I don’t know if doing this would have ever crossed my mind had the always lovely Taylor not messaged me to see if I wanted to get the band back together. Taylor did such an incredible job of hosting last year (along with her fabulous co-hosts!) that I mostly considered this particular torch officially passed.  But… who can resist co-hosting the event that was kind of their baby, that they were scared to do and so, so proud of when they finally got it off the ground? Plus, I am really excited to work with a whole new group of awesome individuals who care about mental health (and getting rid of the garbage stigma that surrounds it) too! So…

Josie is a mood, and one that I am feeling at the moment.

If you’re looking for past examples of the event and the types of posts we have done, check out my archives here! I even did my own guest post last year for the event on Taylor’s blog! You can be as personal or as impersonal as you’d like. There is no need to share anything you aren’t ready to share. Conversely, there’s no topic that’s off limits if you do want to share. Personally, I find sharing cathartic as hell, but everyone is different, so you  should feel welcome to what works best for you and your comfort levels!

So here’s the deal: I am looking for some guest posters. The event will be held from October 6-19, and basically I am open to anything, because like, have you met me? So if you’re game, let me know by filling out this awesome form that I spent like a whole ten minutes creating!

So, who’s excited for a brand new round of Shattering Stigmas?

    • Aw YAY this makes me happy! Well, if you wanted, you could do reviews, or even a list of stuff with decent rep. Doesn’t even have to just be books, shows or movies work, etc. In fact, I think I should integrate something with The 100, now that we’re on the topic!

  1. I’m glad you’re back to doing this. I think it’s such an important topic and we really DO need to shatter the stigma. I’ll have to think about what I could write…

  2. I’m SO HAPPY that this event is back this year, I had such a fantastic time co hosting it last year and it’s such a wonderful event. <3 I can't wait to read all of the posts, I'll have to see whether or not I can actually contribute to anything, but no matter what, I can't wait!! <3 <3

I love this event because it’s so educational for me, and it enables me to talk a little more freely/with less fear of inadvertently insulting someone when a friend reveals their mental health struggles.
