The lovely Amber @ YA Indulgences has tagged me in the Hamilton Book Tag. I figured I had to do this tag because ::whispers:: Amber thinks she is Alexander Hamilton. But, she also kind of got me hooked on it so… yeah. Anyway, she doesn’t know where this came from except “YouTube”, and that’s vague, so, sorry creator person! I also added some of my OWN questions, for funsies! (It’s One Last Time and It’s Quiet Uptown, I did not make that clear before, sorry!)

Also, let’s be real: I could answer these all with The Hunger Games, so be glad that I even tried not to. Mmmmkay? Covers link to Goodreads! And you can play all the songs! You know you want to!

The Room Where It Happens

(A Book World You Would Put Yourself Into)

I know you all think I am crazy, I understand. But I don’t care, I want to be friends with these people and fight, and probably get killed in a sewer, or actually, at the cornucopia during minute one of the games. Whichever.

My Shot

Burn

(The Most Heartbreaking End To A Relationship You’ve Ever Read)

Well crap, this would be REALLY spoilery, no? So I am going to have to go with an older book. So you know what that means!

Finnick and Annie. ::Sobs::

You’ll Be Back

This is probably going to be a common answer but… The Darkling from The Grisha series.

Stay Alive

(A Character You Wish Was Still Alive)

Again, spoilery! There are so many, really. OH! This isn’t a spoiler, because she is a ghost, so you know she’s dead, I just wish she wasn’t 🙁

It’s Quiet Uptown

(A Book that Made You Ugly Cry)

Tissues, please.

One Last Time

(The Best Series Ender)

I think the most satisfied I’ve been with a series end- other than the obvious Mockingjay– and Haven, which has been used in the Apocalypsis series above- is… fine, let’s call it a tie.

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?

(A Book/Series You Feel Like Will Be Remembered Throughout History)

Oy. It’s hard because I don’t know how many books will live on. But I am pretty sure these will, anyway:

And I think there will be more… we just don’t know it yet 🙂

I’ve recently been looking at Elle Casey’s books. I’ll have to move them up in the TBR after seeing your post. 😉

  2. You know, it didn’t even surprise me that you picked Hunger Games as the world to live in xD But I’d pick Harry Potter, it’s a no-brainer for me too. And yes, I remember Sam, I loved her so much! <3

  3. Fun tag! I really need to listen to the music from Hamilton. I love musicals and everyone seems to love this one, so I’m mega curious. I saw the Grammy’s performance though and that was great.

Harry Potter will definitely stand the test of time, I do believe!

  4. YESSSSSSSSSSSS I am so excited to be tagged and can’t wait to think and draft this post this weekend!!

Love your picks for My Shot and Burn!! I really need to read You Were Here soon — I am seeing so much ♥ for it!! Thanks again Shannon!

  5. Okay, I have no idea what Hamilton is. I’ve heard everyone talking about it, but no one wants to be the idiot that says, I’m clueless, what is this madness you speak of. Well of course anything Hunger Games was bound to lure me in. So your plan has worked. Well played Shannon, you crafty vixen <3

    • Ahh, thank you! I think Amber keeps a tally of her recruits, and pays commission at the end of each month, so I will let her know 😉 It’s basically the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the US founding fathers and Secretary of Treasury, and the only non-President on our money. Anyway, he was killed in a duel, and then some guy wrote a book 200+ years later, and then some other guy turned it into a Broadway musical, and it is SO. GOOD. ANd i generally hate musicals, but I LOVE this!

  6. I think by “random” you mean I picked the most awesome bloggers ever in the history of everything, right? That’s what I thought. I listened to some of Hamilton a few weeks ago and I really liked it! I’d LOVE to see it live at some point if it ever comes to my area.

    • ::Nods:: But I could pick ALL of the loveliest, because I’d forget someone (biggest fear=forgetting one of my friends!) so I said random. But yes, most awesome ever sums it up!

I NEED Hamilton! It’s only an hour and a half away, and my dad would totally spring for the pricey tickets because he loves it too- but they are sold out literally forever! I’m on a waiting list but… who knows if/when it’ll happen. I hope it does come near you!

  7. Thank you so much for the tag! I actually have been avoiding the Hamilton bandwagon with extreme prejudice because I do not need a new obsession — although I see you’re juggling THG and Hamilton quite well XD XD I didn’t actually think the Darkling was too sassy … I was torn between disliking him because OBVIOUS EVIL or preferring him over Mal who was the flattest character everrrrr. Anyways.

    • Aww of course, my dear! I think The Darkling had a very dry sense of humor, but I also couldn’t think of anyone else except President SNow bwhahahha.

Also, the good thing about Hamilton is, you don’t have to obsess for long? And then once you’ve heard all the songs, you can just listen at your leisure while doing other things. I think that’s why it works for me!

  8. I think you are the first person I know to actually want to join the Hunger Games! XD Most of people just wants to meet [insert THG characters name]… Finnick and Annie omg *sobs* it’s just so tragic!

    • Bwhahah right? There’s even that meme about how Harry Potter fans want to go to Hogwarts, and some other fandoms want to go to wherever and then Hunger Games fans are like “no, I’m good”. But no, I want to be involved! Maybe I can save Finnick! 😉

  9. It’s so refreshing to stumble upon book recommendations that aren’t the usual! I really need to pick up that Chaos Walking book now, and finally finish the Grisha series. I also love your fierce passion for THG series!

  10. OMG I am reading The Serpent King right now, and I didn’t know it was contemporary, BUT IT IS GOING GREAT AND I AM EXCITED TO CONTINUE READING IT.

Also, why wouldn’t The Hunger Games not live forever? It always well. Unless there is an apocalypse. Or Donald Trump becomes president.

  11. I had to do this tag too, as I am addicted to Hamilton. It’s all I have listened to for months now, I am at that stage where I know almost all the lyrics- which I find impressive for a 2 1/2 hour album. I loved this tag though and the questions they came up with to go along with the songs. Oh god, Annie and Finnick… I WANT TO CRY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!! I’m just about to read The Serpent King, now I am scared about all the feels it may give me. I totally think that The Hunger Games and Harry Potter will be books that will be remembered for years to come.

  12. You Were Here! That has to be one of my favorite books this year! It was SO good! Finnick and Annie break my heart. 🙁 Yess to The Darkling! I might have put him for my response. I can’t remember. LOL. I also chose HP as my books that will live on. I totally agree with THG too!
