  1. I don’t really care for Valentine’s Day. Usually, I just stay at home, eat hot chocolate (too cold for ice cream!) and read a book, either one of the cutest contemporary I could find or with an evil king and blood and gore and killing. Depends on my mood. Ya, basically.

  2. Emma A

I am pretty neutral about it. My mom always makes me a Valentine’s Day card and gets me a little gift, which is very fun. The hype over it, though, is not as fun.

  3. I don’t really have that much of an opinion on Valentine’s day. I think it’s a pretty great idea but since I’ve never had a boyfriend or anything it tends to go by a bit unnoticed 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. naila be

It’s not in our culture to really celebrate Valentine’s Day so I’m quite indifferent and neutral towards that concept

  5. Elizabeth

I used to love it as a kid because I loved making Valentine cards and eating all the candy. But now I kind of loath it because I’m single, lol!

  6. Valentine’s Day is all right! I used to be completely indifferent towards it when I didn’t have a boyfriend because it just… wouldn’t even affect me at all, haha. Now that I do have a boyfriend I do like doing something special with him on Valentine’s Day – we had a great double date with my friend and her boyfriend last year playing board games at a board games café!

  7. Isabel R.

I’m actually in neutral ground when it comes to Valentine’s Day. It’s a great way to make loved ones feel special and to celebrate love. At the same time, it’s makes people who are single or alone feel like crap about themselves.

  8. Amazing! Thanks so much. I don’t think Valentine’s Day merits the hate it gets, and also I think that whilst we singles can all have a laugh about “oh my life is so sad on this day”, if you’re actually upset about your (lack of) love life, these feelings are going to be present on every day of the year. Of course, Valentine’s Day has been turned by the industry into another festival of mindless consumerism, but that is the fate of any celebration of any sort in our world.

  9. Chenise J.

As of right now I’m pretty neutral about it. I don’t have a partner to celebrate it with but that doesn’t really bug me. I celebrate it with my girlfriends!

  10. Valentine’s Day… Love it! Even when I was single, I always made a day of it with the philosophy “treat yo self”. And today, I’m still doing that! My mom surprised me with a massage, and now I’m just sitting at home blogging and reading. And trying to be healthy by drinking a fruit/kale smoothie, but that’s kind of pushing it too far I think 😛 I miss the chocolate!

Thank you so much for this giveaway Shannon – and I’ll definitely be getting Sin Eater’s Daughter if I end up winning 😉

  11. HI SHANNON THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY 😀

Also, hmm Valentines day huh. I could care less either way haha. Yep. Haha 😀 SORRY I’M NOT THAT ROMANTIC AND I ONLY HAVE MY DOG, who isn’t even mine. But he loves me

  12. I’ve never done anything on Valentine’s Day. Truth be told, I kind of despise it. We should be showing love to everyone, everyday. But that might be my sour puss face I’m showing. I’ve never had a Valentine so…But I do hope everyone does have the most fantastic day. Everyone should always be shown they are loved. Thank you for the giveaway. I love the books coming out this month. I’m so excited.

  13. I genuinely don’t have any feelings towards Valentine’s Day, either way. Well, not anymore. When I was younger, I loved the romance of it. Now, I am incredibly happily married, and I have love every single day. So, Valentine’s Day is kind of just another day. Plus, my husband works third shift, and had to work last night, so we are just sitting at home, watching tv, relaxing with the dogs! Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. I think its silly. you shouldnt need s special day to tell people you love them and do nice things. It should happened everyday. This holiday has never ever meant anything to me.

  15. I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, but I have nothing against it either. 🙂 I’m more of a “Whatever” type of person until I get into a relationship, then I’ll probably feel different. xD I think it’s sweet though, all the stuff that couples do sometimes for it, as long as it’s not the only day they show love to each other.

  16. Emma Rose

It doesn’t mean much to me. I show my Husband I love Him all year round. Don’t need a special day to do that.

  17. When I’ll say I hate Valentine’s does that mean I’m a bitter teen, who doesn’t have anyone to give her something? Hahaha! But I love Valentine’s its like another Christmas/thanksgiving holiday on which everyone shows their love to their love ones by giving them flowers, chocolates, bears, bringing them to dinners, or even giving them books. I may not have a someone special (e.g boyfriend) but celebrating Valentine’s with your family is a one happy and loving thing to do. 🙂 How about you? Do you love or hate Valentine’s? :))

  18. Ashley

I’m sort of ambivalent. Usually my husband and I will do something small. Today he brought me a heart shaped doughnut and he got a box of Thin Mints. We don’t hate it, we just don’t really get into the whole “day of love” thing. Going out to eat is horrible because everything is packed, same with movies. Usually we just order in, watch Netflix, and it is kind of awesome.

  19. Elin

It doesn´t mean that much to me. If people want to celebrite that´s fine, but it´s just for the shops to sell even more.

  20. Denise C.

I have nothing against Valentine’s Day. I just spend it like any other day but this year’s Valentine’s Day I got a request from my sister to make a leche flan so… I made about five leche flans.

  21. Marta K

Well, don’t love it and don’t hate it either. It’s just another day for me. People shouldn’t be upset if they don’t have someone that particular day and if they do they shouldn’t just wait for this day to do something special..

  22. I’m indifferent… Though I will say if I am in a relationship and it is ignored (unless some agreement was made to have a unique VD – say Halloween). It is a relationship killer! That being said how many people just pay it lip service?

  23. I’ve indifferent. There are a few things I dislike about the holiday. However I’ve come to make it my own spending the day with friends and loved ones. It’s the little things that make it special to me. I do love getting handwritten valentine’s from my students. Those kinds of gifts mean a whole lot more than receiving any extravagant gift from a significant other.

  24. Lotus

Since I am married, my husband and I always have a nice dinner somewhere, though usually not on the day since that is over-priced and over-crowded, and also share some special chocolates, so I guess I’m a fan since I’m in a committed relationship! But when I was single I thought it was over-hyped.

  25. Jacklin Updegraft

I used to hate it but my ex and I dated during valentines and I was so excited to have a valentines but it turned out that he didn’t believe in Valentines day and so he wouldn’t celebrate it and it just made me realize how badly I wanted to have a valentines!

  26. Jewel

Hate it. I think Valentine’s Day should be everyday. I would like to receive flowers whenever, not once a year. To me, it’s just another day.

  27. Mira

I don’t celebrate it, but I don’t mind Valentine’s Day. I kind of wish the holiday promoted a different kind of flower each year, though. I don’t especially like roses, and red ones are blah. If it’s going to be roses, they’re very nice mixed with lilies.

  28. Heather Langston

I’m kinda indifferent towards Vday. It’s nice to go out to eat but our favorite restaurant had a fire about a year ago so they’re remodeling and…well…they’ve spoiled us for going anywhere else. *sigh* Made the most AMAZING chocolate covered strawberries and drunken cherries…*drool* We did end up at a local pizza pub this year though. 🙂

  29. Karin

i don’y love valentine’s day because I believe that if you love someone you should show it to them occasionally, willingly not one day a year when you’re” told “to do it

  30. Anita Yancey

I don’t love it or hate it, I just take it as it comes. But I do always tell my husband that he doesn’t have to get me anything, but that I would like to go out to dinner. Any excuse to get out of cooking is alright with me. Thanks for having this giveaway.

  31. We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day on my country (Brazil) – at least not on Feb14th. We do have a “day for couples” on June 12th. I don’t really have any feelings towards it. It’s usually impossible to do anything interesting anyway and due to lack of money, my boyfriend and I kind of have stopped celebrating it. I do love all the heart shaped things and romance in the air associated with Valentine’s day though.

  32. Kimberly B.

I don’t really see it as a holiday and I’ve never really had cause to celebrate it. The chocolate is a plus though 🙂

  33. Honestly, I don’t have any feelings one way or the other. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a bf that I don’t see all the romantic parts of it, but I do like when friends or family do stuff for me. I also like doing stuff for friends, family, and strangers then. I think it’s just a day to be kind.

  34. Valentine’s day is such fun. A day dedicated to love! I always get my kids big valentine’s hearts. I love getting stuff for their friends in school and then seeing what they get back. I don’t get flowers or chocolates from my love, but I keep hoping. I think people that hate it just need to stop. It is an excuse for candy at the very least.

  35. ImSoFreakyLOL

I an not a big fan of Valentine’s day. The pressure to give something and the posibility to be dissapointed are my turn offs.

  36. Anita H

I don’t really have much feelings towards it good or bad. It’s great because of all the chocolate but haven’t celebrated many of them so meh

  37. I actually used to HATE Valentine’s Day because I just thought it was stupid and I didn’t like the extra attention. However, I started dating my current boyfriend last summer. His BIRTHDAY is Valentine’s Day and that fixed my hatred for the holiday pretty quickly. Now, rather than dealing with unwanted attention, we can celebrate his birthday. =)

  38. Amber Terry

I don’t really have strong feelings toward Valentine’s Day either way. I do think it’s probably the CUTEST holiday, though–I have a weakness for hearts everywhere 🙂

Thanks for the chance to win!

  39. I think Valentine’s Day is a pretty dumb commercial holiday, but I usually do something with my husband (like spend the day at a museum) and we usually go out to dinner (although this year we stayed home and made cinnamon Belgian waffles).

  40. Angelica M.

I don’t hate it nor love it. It’s just an ordinary day for me. 🙂 Though I celebrated it with a friend, had a date with her.

  41. Stefanía B.

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s day. I think it’s a commercial holiday, so I’ve never celebrated it 🙂

  42. sarah s

I just had a nice trip to the beach with my sister and dog. I always thought of Valentine’s Day as more of a commercial holiday, as one of the other comments stated so I don’t take it as serious as other holidays, except to get a half off candy bar the day after:)

  43. Sherry Hoernig

Can’t really say that I love or hate it. I do love all the chocolate that is available because of it…lololol!!!
