Top Ten Tuesday is a feature over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is “Top Ten Things On My Bookish Bucket List”.
So this was a hard one. I never really had a bookish bucket list, so I was forced to come up with one in a hurry! Of course, when I first sat down to think about this, all I could really come up with was stuff related to The Hunger Games. Cause, you know, obsession. This is what I was able to come up with:
1. Create a Bookish Bucket List. Yeah, I have got nothing. I am really curious to see what others come up with, because I bet there are some really awesome book related things to do out there.
2. Have 1000 books on my “read” shelf. It just seems like an impressive number. Though, if you counted the years of Baby-Sitters Club books and all the other stuff I read as a kid, I am sure I’d be there already!
3. Write a book. This is more long term, but I have had an idea in my head for ages. And ever since I was very young, I have wanted to write something. But when I had time, I had no inspiration, and now that I have some inspiration, I have no time. Perhaps when the kids are a bit more self-sufficient.

The worst part? I have been to Aix-En-Provence. Been there. And somehow, did not see this, or even hear about it beforehand. Boo.
5. Have a Hunger Games party. Ideally, this would happen for one of the premieres of Mockingjay 1 or 2, but I would need to find people locally who were as insane as me. Most of my insane friends live too far away. But any party occasion would suffice, really. My birthday is in November too, just saying.
6. Go to a convention. These look amazing, from what I have read/saw/heard. I am not important enough yet, I figure. And I am broke and am responsible for these two little munchkins who would probably not be welcome. Again, some day. That’s why it is a bucket list, no?
7. Mockingjay tattoo. Yes, I am 31. Yes, it is probably ridiculous. But, I have a swimming tattoo from college, and why not add something else I love? I want to add a Mockingjay, and a small lyric for each kiddo. It’s fine if I am a dork.
8. Make some good bookish friends. Because my other friends probably cannot take much more of my nonsense. Sometimes, only other book people would understand!
9. Figure out how to fix my daughter’s Berenstain Bears books. Fine, this one is more of a current annoyance, but she loves her books, and she loves them hard. And in lieu of shelling out $5 every time one of the pages falls out of the stupid staples, I would like to learn how to fix them. Because me trying to staple them has only ended in injury, and tape just does not do the trick.
10. Be relevant. Yes, this is vague, but I think it is one of those cases of “you know it when you see it”. Like, a relevant blogger would get asked to do a lot of reviews, have a lot of friends and connections, speak with authors on the regular, etc.
That was hard. Seriously, it took three days to come up with ten, and some of them, let’s face it, were not even legit. Now I am extra curious- what are your Top Ten?

I want a bookish tattoo so badly. My problem is I switch ideas too often, and can’t settle on just one. I totally hear you on needing more bookish friends as well. I have a couple and they get tired of me getting shouty and throwing books at them. I agree, I want #10 too.

I figure that since I have been obsessed with THG for years, it would be kind of relevant. And I am talking a *tiny* one, so even if I wasn’t still into it, it wouldn’t be a big deal! Some of my friends love my book throwing, and some are like “okay, enough!”.
I think you’ve got some great goals on your list. I really hope you achieve them 🙂 I don’t think I could get a bookish tattoo. I’m too scared!

I’m not sure if I could ever get a bookish tattoo, because I’m pretty sure I’d be obsessed about a whole new book the very next day. I like the idea of a book party, though, that would be fun!!
Glad I’m not the only one that had no idea what to put here. Your list is great though! I ran out of ideas at number seven. I love the building in number four, that’s really cool. Book buildings should definitely be a thing.
It’s funny. I was thinking just this morning that I’d like 1000 books on my read shelf too. I was wondering if I’d see books different after seeing so many like now I can just about put up with YA instalove but maybe by book 1000 I’ll just chuck it out of the window Silver Linings style…

Oh my gosh, yes to 1000 books in my ‘read’ shelf! I currently have just about 250 🙁 I want to go to a convention so bad! BEA!! Bookish friends! Yes!! Though I am a very very awkward person.. :))
