Welcome to January’s Monthly Minutes at Midnight!

Here’s the deal: I’ll share the books I’ve obtained, posts of interest from others, giveaways I have happening, and just general random shenanigans. You know I love a shenanigan.  Also, covers all link to Goodreads, because I am awesome. As always, I link up with the Wrap Up Round Up, too!

Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!

I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!

Pretty covers are pretty.

Things we need to talk about at this juncture:

  • I am so tired.  Did I mention that? I think so, sorry. But wow, I am. Sam has karate and basketball, and that is a lot. School started up again (only a couple more classes to go, hopefully for realsies this time?) and work is a lot and life is a lot because like…. look around at the mess that has been made. I am just so glad that January is finally over! Hopefully spring will help our moods, and Conageddon 5 is coming up (tickets still available, friends!), and then summer, though Idk what I am supposed to do without a pool. You guys likely know by now that the pool is my happy place so I am pretty bummed about no longer having access to one. But just a break will be nice, of course! This might be the least excited we have ever been for a New Year, tbh- we dreaded 2025, and for good reason, as it were.

Have a great February, loves! Let me know how your month was! Looking forward to anything coming up?

  1. I have Harmattan Season coming up from my NetGalley list. Looks like you’ve read a lot of good books this month. I’ll be checking out some of them. I hope you can find time to rest. I’m mostly avoiding the news and that has helped with my stress a bit.

  2. Wandering Wild is on my TBR too. Lots of good books, and I need to check out your reviews for some of them for sure! Hope February goes by good for both of us! I’m looking forward to summer as well. I don’t normally do much swimming, but I’m going to have to get a swimsuit this year since we are going on a cruise!

  3. I had no idea Lynette Noni was releasing a new book so I was super excited to find out about it here! ♥ Why On Earth and Space Brooms! are on my TBR so I’m looking forward to those as well 🙂

I hope you manage to rest a bit more in February! *sends hugs*

  4. I hope you loved Swordheart because that’s already on my TBR wishlist. 😀 I look forward to your reviews! I hope it’s not too, too many. I did listen to a thing on NPR about how Americans are reading less and less and how that’s bad news for all of us, but that they suggested creating a reading habit by setting aside 15 minutes once or twice a day to read, rather than making a page or book count goal. I’m thinking that’s a good idea! I just traded in 90% of my books at Givens (the local indie book shop that is one of my favorite places in the whole world) for the cash to get gas to visit Gabe (life as a poor is wild) but I’m already scoping the library selection at my future town. Anything they don’t have that you recommend, I’m gonna put in a purchase request for. 😀

I get the exhaustion….you do SO, so much. More than ever before, and before was already a HECKIN’ LOT. There’s only so much of the world and news you can take on, before it drags you down, so please do the activism you can (which includes finding moments of joy, as well as calling senators and whatnot) but don’t overload yourself with the overwhelm. Sending you hugs from VA (for now…soon it’ll be hugs on a 3-hour delay, from WA) and I can’t wait to see what February brings. Hopefully some reprieves and fantastic reads.
