Welcome to October’s Monthly Minutes at Midnight!
Here’s the deal: I’ll share the books I’ve obtained, posts of interest from others, giveaways I have happening, and just general random shenanigans. You know I love a shenanigan. Also, covers all link to Goodreads, because I am awesome. As always, I link up with the Wrap Up Round Up, too!

Fancy & New Since Last I Saw You!
I love looking at pretty covers! So here are some new ones that I have fallen in love with since our last update!
Pretty covers are pretty. Big ol’ cover month here!
Things we need to talk about at this juncture:
- VOTE. And while you’re at it, be sure to vote for the competent woman, not the racist orange criminal. We talk about this here. Please, I am begging you with my whole soul, this is too important to sit out.
- Happy Halloween! This has been a long month. I don’t even know what happened, but Sam and I turned 11! But next month I like more because I have days off! I took the 6th off (because come on- I scheduled a medical test I had to have for that day because if I have to use a sick day, well, that is the day for it!), and then Veteran’s Day, and then Thanksgiving! My birthday also happens to be in November, not that it is particularly exciting, but alas. I am just a ball of anxiety, and I guess one way or another, we’ll know the outcome. I have been doing… not much? I am currently watching From, The Ark, and The Challenge, but none of these are new. I should be posting a shows post soon. And reviews. While you wait, enjoy everyone’s favorite Halloween costume:
Another amazing month of books lady!!! And yes, vote. Vote like our lives depend on it. Because it does. (Cries in headlines lately)
I feel like I don’t know how to respond to any comments on Before posts because… yeah. But I want everyone to know I have read their words and am sending love, so. Much, much love to you 💙
I am reading (hopefully) three of your books: The Swarm, Snow Drowned and The Relentless Legion, hopefully they work for me. This is going to be a stressful week, and if it’s anything like that last awful election, it won’t be over Tuesday night😬 Hang in there, Shannon!
As per usual, I have been failing at blogging this year. It’s been a rough year though so hopefully I can get some time of routine down soon. Yay for lots of wonderful books. Boo to the orange criminal. I will DEFINITELY be voting for the competent woman, and I need a win there!!! Congrats on 11 years! And I’m excited to read C.G. Drews’ new book – they’ve come so far and it’s insane!

I didn’t realize Shusterman has a new book coming out! This sounds just like something he would write – a dystopian turned upside down in ways you wouldn’t expect. You know I’ll be getting it!
And I so adored DON’T LET THE FOREST IN!! Utterly amazing!! I just got US AGAINST THE LIKES yesterday – can’t wait to read it!! I’m also super excited to see covers from some of my fellow 2025 debuts here – such a cool feeling!!
New Neal Shusterman book? I didn’t know about that! I hope you have an awesome November.
Ahahahahaha yes, that IS the costume to wear to con. 😀
You got some lovely books in there! I’m sorry you’re still in something of a reading slump, but big books plus a billion other responsibilities…..well, something’s gotta give, right? I can’t wait to read your review of Don’t Let the Forest In! And congrats again on turning 11. 🙂
