So, I saw Madalyn @ Novel Ink do this, and well, I liked it and also I was pretty hard up for a blog post idea so here we are! Apparently, it originated here, so giving credit where it’s due!

Anyway, here’s some info (and the test!) on Myers Briggs, in case you haven’t heard of it. I have taken the test on several sites, because sometimes I am bored and apparently really interested in myself. I always get one of two types: ENFP or ENFJ. And they’re usually really close, so I decided to choose which one felt more like me and that is definitely the ENFJ. Like, it’s scary how much it sounds like me, tbh.

And now… let’s answer some stuff about books!

EXTROVERT: ( E )

Being alone has its perks, but what’s the point of a good book if it can’t be shared? What are 3 all time favorite books that you would love everyone to read and talk about?

Only three? Not cute, tag! But okay. For the sake of argument:

I picked books here that I both loved and I thought would make good discussion topics.

INTUITION: ( N )

Some books are meant to be understood and others are meant to be explored. What book or character stands for an idea that is deeply meaningful to you?

In the sense that it should be deeply explored, as it is a cautionary tale. But super relevant in today’s society, certainly.

FEELING: ( F )

Not everything needs to be realistic, where is the fun in a world with limits? Which fantasy world do you find so atmospheric you slip inside and never want to leave? (Put simply a book with good vibes)

Is this a weird choice? Who cares I love The Oregon Trail.

JUDGING: ( J )

All play and no work leads to chaotic disorder…and anarchy. How do you structure and balance your reading, booktube blogging, and personal life to better use your time?

Honestly no idea. I mean- I guess I do get it done? And stressing about it less has been the most helpful thing, but that may be going against the grain of my personality, so.

ENFJ: The Giver

A giver with so much to give, and you’d give it to everyone if you could. What book do you believe to be universally loved. A book that you could give to opposites and watch them unite in at least this one common good.

I mean, obviously. But also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that you should all be watching this too:

So, have you taken the test? Which personality type do you identify with? At the very least, tell me if you are an introvert or an extrovert!

  1. I haven’t read those three books under Extrovert but from what I know of them- they do seem like they’d be good discussion type books. 🙂 And I really should read at least ONE of them soon.

You also managed to fit both THG and The 100 into this post so that’s impressive. Now I need to go take the test and see what I am. I took it years ago and think I’m an IN- something. Off to see…

    • I am just shaking my head because you haven’t read them. I MEAN. You own two of them? Actually- you should read every book I have discussed here because they are all books I REALLY recommend.

I think legitimately every person who commented is an I-something hahahhah. Actually, I see two fellow extroverts, that is fun!

This was so cool! I’m an INFJ, so we’re kind of alike haha. I’ve done the test multiple times too! Sometimes I get INTJ depending on my mood but like you said that didn’t feel like me.

  3. The show ‘Adam Ruins Everything’ did a segment on the MBTI tests and they have such a janky history! It sure is fun to get to know yourself a little more with the tests though. I’ve consistently gotten INTJ over the last few years. I’m one heck of an introvert!

I’ve heard a lot about ‘Only Ever Yours’. It’s in the grain of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, right? I can barely stomach the show I don’t think I can get through a book like that :/

    • Hahhaha oh yeah it is not like… legitimate, but still fun! There are so many INTJs in the comments, it’s so fun to see what people are!

Only Ever Yours is phenomenal. It IS a little Handmaid’s Tale-y. Very cautionary. And bleak. But it blew me away. (Oh- if it helps, the Handmaid’s book is SO much easier to read than the show is to watch- I breezed through the book after like, literally not being able to handle the show at times.)

  4. Cool tag. I haven’t seen this one before. I’ve been forced to take this test by school and a few doctors. I’m ISTJ. I loved The Serpent King, Scythe, and The Hunger Games. I’m pretty sure Only Ever Yours is on my TBR list. I don’t remember. I haven’t looked at the list in a while because I’m trying to read the books I already own.

    • Hahha i love it “I’ve been forced to take this test” ??? Definitely read Only Ever Yours, even if not right now. Also, how does one read only the books they own? Please share your secrets, this may be one of the greatest life mysteries you have solved.

  5. We’re close… both NFJ… but I’m an I where you’re an E. 🙂
So agree with The Hunger Games… I mean, who wouldn’t enjoy that?!
And The Serpent KIng – yeah I have mixed feeling (freaking Lydia… grrr) but I always say there’s that one scene in there that will stay with me forever. *sobs*

  6. Now I need to go take that test. I feel like I’ve done it before, but I don’t remember the result. Pretty sure I’d be an Introvert though, as I need my alone time and crowds can really make me anxious. I do like being with people sometimes though, so I’m not a complete introvert. hah Fun tag! And Scythe is a great book to discuss. Now I just need to read the second one…

  7. I am always, always, always an INFP. And I’m stealing this tag. And I LOVE your three books. Definitely 3 of my favorites as well. I have a student reading Scythe right now, and a student reading The Knife of Never Letting Go, and I just want do dance around the going, “Do you love it? Isn’t it amazing? Are you ready for the sequel yet?”

  8. I just took the test and got ENFJ-T! Does the T mean something different? I think the last time I took a test like this was in high school, so over ten years ago. Hah! I can’t remember what it was last time, however, I noticed I’m slowly becoming more introverted. I don’t have the energy to be around people anymore! It’s exhausting.

  9. Ooh, this is such a fun and unique book tag! I need to get around to reading something by Neal Shusterman, considering I see his books EVERYWHERE. And I liked your answer about balancing stuff in your life. I don’t have any specific method for balancing responsibilities with fun and relaxation, I just know I try to be productive early in the day and then make sure I’ve done something that allows me to unwind a little.

  10. Ohh what a fun tag, I love it 🙂 I’m an INFJ (I think, if I remember correctly haha). I love your answers here and I loved The Serpent King so much, even if I cried a whole lot as well haha. And Only Ever Yours, that book was like a slap in the face, it was so good and relevant, too, I agree! 🙂

    • It is so fun! You should do the test again, I’d be curious to see what you are! I am actually not even on the I/E border hah- I am very E. But the J/P border was super close- because like, okay I am NOT organized, but it isn’t because I like chaos, it’s just because I am a mess of a person?

  11. Kel

If memory serves, I’ve always scored INTJ on these tests. No surprise there, haha. Although I must say I am shocked to see you recommending The Hunger Games and The 100. It’s so unlike you. 😉

  12. Beth W

How fun! I’m an ESTJ, and have been since I first took the Myers Briggs in Psych 101. The Serpent King was so good! I definitely need to read Scythe.

  13. I love the fun convos we’ve had about this quiz!! LOL It was no surprise to me to see that you are E and an F. Or that we have a few matching letters because we’re quite similar in ways.

I, um, haven’t read any of your 3 all-time fave books. WHOOPS. And it wouldn’t be a you post without a mention of The Hunger Games and The 100 (love how you snuck this in at the end). HAHA. BALANCE?! WHAT IS THIS BALANCE THEY SPEAK OF?! You just scream and hope for the best. No? Just me? *sobs*
