Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward to In 2018 (These could be new releases, or books you resolve to read, ten debuts we are looking forward to, etc.)

Fun fact: I copied this as a draft from last year’s post. Look, I could pretend to be sorry, but 2017 has beat me down, guys. So I am taking the easy way out, sure. But not really because you know I’ll still link all the books and such. I am also super tired because it is Christmas and we all know I don’t plan ahead for anything. Womp womp. Also, if you’re curious about all the 2018 books I added to my TBR, here they are! (Also, can you cross your fingers that me copying a post meant for 2017 doesn’t also copy whatever bad juju brought this hellish year upon us? Super.)

I also only used books with covers, because apparently I am superficial like that. Except Cait’s book, because obviously.

The Debuts

The Sequels

And so many without covers, honestly!

The New Series

The Ones I’ve Read (and liked!)

The Others- I want to read them, but they didn’t fit a category!

(This includes books where a sequel has not formally been announced!)

Which 2018 books are you dying to read? Or, which have you read already and wish to recommend? Good luck with your TBRs! ?

  1. I am SO (sososo) excited about Cait’s book… in fact, how I neglected to add her debut to my post is beyond me. *blogger fail*

Also on my “excited list” is “Heart of Iron.” That one sounds amazing, and I’m excited to read a novel by Ashley, too. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas, Shannon.

  2. Waaah. I always end up regretting (but loving) looking at your lists because it makes me want to read all of the books. ALL OF THE BOOKS! There are so many on here that I’d love to read. I hope you have a better 2018 Shannon.

  3. I’M SO EXCITED FOR A THOUSAND PERFECT NOTES TOO. IT’S GONNA BE AMAZING. I’M VERY HUMBLE. (Also very honoured it made your list. ??Aren’t you my favourite afjdskalfd.) Now I think I have most of these added?! But I’ll go add the rest because I want my TBR to hate me in 2018 obviously.

  4. Great list, Shannon! Dread Nation and Devils Unto Dust made my list this week, too, and I’ll definitely be adding Fatal Throne to my TBR – I’m a Tudor nut, so I’m ashamed I haven’t come across that one already. I hope you manage to have a very chilled Boxing Day and that 2018 is a much better year for you!

  5. Ah your lists are amazing and always make my TBR explode but I’m also happy about that 🙂 I think I just added half of these to my 2018 TBR so thanks for that! Especially excited about The Extinction Trials, Restore Me, Onyx and Ivory, Furyborn and The Belles.

  6. I can’t even begin to describe my excitement for all the new releases! I’m seriously overwhelmed and I have no idea where to start from. Hopefully, I’ll be able to read at least some of them throughout the year. My TBR shelf is more than full but, who cares? Right? Hope you’re having a wonderful time!

  7. Um, how did I not know that 99 Days has a sequel???!!! Gaaaaah!!!!!!!! Consider my day made. May 1st – my anniversary. It’s a good omen. And Restore Me – absolutely. I totally need more Juliette and Warner and KENJI.

  8. Clearly 2018 is gonna have some kickass covers. The Extinction Trials (I think that one will look so good in person), Defiant and Given to the Earth- amazing covers. Plus I need to read all those! Contagion looks like a trip too.

  9. I was falling all over myself when I heard we were getting a 99 Days sequel!!!!! There was more story to tell there. The Wicked Deep and Heretics Anonymous are debuts I MUST read, Obsidio is a most necessary read, as well as Restore Me (I am excited to get back in that world). I am really excited about new Paula Garner. I loved her last book so much! You have me so excited for 2018!!!

  10. all the covers are so lovely, it make me want to read them all but sadly, I don’t. perhaps ‘unearthed’ as it sounds like a book I would like. & also the ‘a thousand beginnings and endings’ those stories sounded good.

    have a lovely day.

  11. You have picked the prettiest covers out there. The only books I recognized were Restore Me (there better be more Kenji in that book, gosh dang it), and Obsidio (I still have to catch up and read Gemina). To Kill a Kingdom and The Wicked Deep have such eerie covers, though. Dang it. I’m really curious as to how you find new books. I am still working through stuff that’s already been published.

  12. Ahh what a great list! I can’t wait to read Cait’s debut as well, I am so happy it’s contemporary haha, my favorite genre <3
I'm also really, really excited for The Belles – so happy you loved it so much – and You'll miss me when I'm gone! 🙂

  13. Very curious about Cait’s book. I am so not a contemporary reader but I shall get it to support her. <3 So many good looking and sounding books on your list. I could not choose just 10 either haha.

  14. I have so many books I need to read that thinking about upcoming 2018 releases are giving me headaches xD I’m waiting for To Kill A Kingdom, Save the Date, and The Cruel Prince 😀
