Welcome to The 100 TV/Book Blitz! I do book blitzes oh you know, never, but when I saw this… well come on guys, it’s THE 100 for goodness sake. P.S.- I think these things actually kind of work because now I want the boxed set and will probably buy it so..
Anyway. Since today is the premiere of Season 4 of the show, I figured I would tell you a few reasons to watch if you have somehow managed not to already. Then we will talk about this really pretty boxed set that I need in my life. Good? Good.
Why you need to watch The 100:
- Badass women take center stage. The women are like… they are like no other cast of females ever. Each one is so damn brave and strong in her own way. The women are the best doctors, fighters, engineers, everything. Now, there are some awesome guys, too, don’t get me wrong. But let’s be clear: the women are in charge here.
- Diversity FTW! So not only does not matter one bit what ethnicity, race, or sexual orientation someone is, there is a ton of rep of so many different groups on this show. There’s even focus on disabilities, mental health… it is pretty fabulous.
- You will fall in love with these characters… and then they will all die and your soul will be crushed forever and ever. (Okay, maybe that isn’t a selling point but.. no, it actually is, because you can cathartic-cry.)
- Speaking of, the cast is pretty amazing too. They have been really vocal about standing up against all the complete bullshit going on, and I kind of somehow love them more than I already did.
- There are tips for our brand new apocalypse, happening right at the site where The 100 is located! Seriously, they have scenes IN Washington D.C. I feel like the show’s writers are basically just giving us a “how to navigate your fresh new hell” handbook. Thanks, guys!
- You can binge watch the first three seasons on Netflix right now! And, you can binge read all four books right now! And then compare! Such fun, I promise.

Well look, if you were ONLY going to do one… watch the show. But… I won’t even lie, I kiiiiind of got sort of into the 3rd book. (Don’t tell Holly. She’ll shame me.)
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I can’t agree with any of these more than I already do. But, more reasons come along every day I feel like. The characters and the actors who play them just find new ways for us to love them more.
YEP! Every time I see one of the cast members at a protest, or championing some human rights cause, I love them all the more!
