May-2016-Discussion-Challenge

Welcome to the May monthly link-up for the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!

This challenge has really been going strong! I love that it’s April and we’re still consistently getting over 80 discussions posted per month. Sometimes challenges start to lose steam by this time of year, but you guys are still coming up with great topics and doing lots of discussing!

The winner of our March discussion challenge link-up was Kaja @ Of Dragons and Hearts! She got to pick a few different books she was interested in and Nicole surprised her with one. She chose The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle since she’s been wanting to read it herself- and incidentally, bought her own copy (good life choice, both of you! I love that book)!

If you don’t know what this challenge is all about or haven’t signed up yet (but want to), head on over to the challenge sign-up page to learn more! Even if you’d rather not join, we hope you’ll stop by occasionally to check out the MANY discussion posts that are being linked up here – there’s lots of great discussions going on!

If you need some ideas for discussion ideas this month, try out one of these topics:

  • April showers bring May flowers. Sometimes that proves true in our books as well. Can you think of some examples of books where terrible circumstances led to amazing outcomes or character growth?
  • Yesterday (April 30th) was Indie Book Store Day. Tell us about your favorite Indie Book Store!
  • Headed to BEA? Tell us about it! Missing it? Tell us about your dream book event – it’s yours, so make it whatever you want!

Looking for more inspiration, or want to see some discussion posts as an example? Check out the discussion posts on Feed Your Fiction Addiction or It Starts at Midnight (click the links to be brought directly to our discussion posts).

Since April showers bring May flowers, this month’s giveaway will feature books with a weather theme OR floral theme. We’re not looking to be sticklers here – use your imagination! Maybe you choose a book with something reminiscent of weather or flowers in the title – or something on the cover – or the book features a post apocalyptic setting due to global warming. I’m guessing LOTS of books could fit this theme if you use your imagination! 🙂 The giveaway is open internationally as long as TBD ships to you (book chosen can be up to a $17 value). Just follow the Rafflecopter instructions to enter!

Make sure to link up all of your May discussion posts here. This linky and the May giveaway will be open until June 7th (to give people a little extra time to link up – just in case you’re disorganized like we are). If, by some chance, you forget to link up a post this month, you can add it to next month’s linky (but no duplicates, please).

Go forth, and discuss!
