(Way more than) Ten Upcoming Must-Reads

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015 (typically when we make this list in December/January each year it’s pretty heavy for the first half of the year especially because we don’t always have covers for books pubbed later at that point so let’s talk about what we are excited about for the rest of the year)

Well, they’re right about that: I didn’t want to post all those lovelies because they did not have covers. Now, they do! But I worry this is going to be a little repetitive, kind of like a BEA recap post or something! I am going to try, but no promises. Also, there will be a lot of cheating involved.

  1. Okay so my TBR hates you…BUT ALSO LOVES YOU. OMG! How have I not heard of half of these?!! I’m desperate for Illumane and Queen of Shadows and Walk on Earth a Stranger…but Louise O’Neill has a new book?! And that one with the volcano is basically screeching my name. I MUST GO GOODREADS NOW.

    • Right? It’s bad, because there are too many potentially amazing books, and not enough time, and definitely not enough money.

And YESSSS Louise O’Neill has a new book! GAH it has been preordered already because of COURSE it has! I mean, I cannot get it HERE, in THIS silly country, but it shall be MINE!!! (Thanks to the girls at YA Midnight reads- they deserve a shoutout here!)

The volcano one is the second in a series, but I really liked the first one- a LOT! So yes, do check it out 🙂

    • Louise O’Neill (the author of Asking For It) has a special place in my heart. Her debut, Only Ever Yours… it was just mind blowing. The social commentary… just everyone should read it! I expect the same from this one- but it is only available in the UK until next year- Book Depository has it though 😉

  2. Great list! You have quite a list; I was only able to come up with five… I think the universe is still in balance. 🙂 Here’s my TTT. Happy reading!

  3. SHOOT I FORGOT THE HEART OF BETRAYAL. Gahhhhhh. Poopers.

I was about to ask where Winter was, then I remember you DIDN’T EVEN START THAT SERIES

  4. YES TO ALL OF THESE SHANNON! Gah…I loved The Islands at the End of the World so much, and I hope that The Girl at the Center of the World is just as good. *crosses fingers*

Yes to Queen of Shadows – Sarah J. Maas obviously can do no wrong; so I’m hoping this is just as good as her previous books.

And OMG you are going to freaking love Illuminae. I just finished it a few days ago and I still can’t get it out of my head. It’s so unique and original and I’m practically positive you’re going to love this one.

Thanks for sharing and great choices! ♥

    • Ahh thank you!! I really hope The Girl at the Center of the World is good too- I am also glad you know what I am talking about because most people do not seem to! Oh I am SOOOO excited to hear that you loved Illuminae! This makes me even more excited!! And seriously, I am reading Crown of Midnight now… and I ALREADY need Queen of Shadows! It’s that good!

  5. So many great picks! I can’t wait for Six of Crows it sounds SO good 😀 Here’s my TTT if you would like to check it out! 🙂 Have a great day!

  6. Great list! I recognize many of those in the series, but some haven’t even made my radar. I hope the build up and wait is worth it! I didn’t do a post this week because I don’t keep up with upcoming books much, but the one I am definitely and seriously interested in is Harper Lee’s Go Set A Watchman. Very interesting circumstances surrounding the publication and all. I’ll draw my own conclusions. 🙂

    • Ah, yes, I think the hype about the circumstances with the Harper Lee book is probably bigger than the hype around the actual book 😉 And thanks, I hope they are worth it too- because let’s face it, it is no fun when a book you couldn’t wait for is bad!

  7. Thanks so much for the list… a couple of newies to look forward to 🙂 I am also really looking forward to us conductors.

  8. I SOOOOOOO WANT TO READ BLOOD AND SALT! I heard it was uber creepy, and creepy and Faye rhyme in my dictionary. I’m desperate for a copy, but am willing to wait, although I do hope that a book fairy will hear my pleas of help 😉 So glad that you have Illuminae!!! I read that book and was like WOWZA THIS WAS EXCELLENT. I am certain you’ll love it, too.

    • I am SOOO excited for it! Also, I LOVE Kim. So there’s so much win exuding from this book already! BOOK FAIRY, HEAR FAYE’S PLEAS!!! (That should work, no? 😉 )

AHHH YAY! You are the second person who’s loved Illuminae! I am SO EXCITED for it, it sounds really unique. And honestly? It is super pretty!

  9. So many amazing books. What You Left Behind made my list as well. The one I am looking forward to the most is Winter. I can’t wait to read the last book of the Lunar Chronicles.

  10. I am already making my way through some upcoming eARC’s, so I read A madness so discreet (LOVED IT SO MUCH) and I’m now busy in Walk on earth a stranger (FANTASTIC) I can’t wait for Queen of shadows (duh :D), Soundless and Six of crows.

  11. I know what you mean! There are just so many good reads coming out, how to only pick ten? There are a lot of which I am looking forward to! And a few of which I have and cannot WAIT to read like A Madness so Discreet and the Rest of Us Just Live Here. The excitement xD
