Tag Team, Back Again…

(Please tell me you know this song. Please? Otherwise, I shall feel ancient. Though please note, I was very young when it was released. Just saying.) tagtea-whoomp

I have been tagged again, in all sorts of fun posts! There’s a movie tag, a Liebster tag, and two more of those “Sisterhood of the Traveling Bloggers” tags (that is not it’s real name).

Holly @ The Fox’s Hideaway tagged me for the Blogger Sisterhood whatever tag:

1. Why did you start blogging? Because… Goodreads didn’t let me be weird enough, really.
2. Do you have any quirky reading habits? Yes. Probably? Okay, I always read in bed. I have the TV on, but the sound off. I read my Kindle book first, then my physical book. I do not eat near the books. I read from about 1-4am. Beverages are acceptable.
3. What book have you reread the most? The Hunger Games series. 9 times. Shooting to reread more next year.
4. What do you do when you’re in a reading slump? Get angry. Try another book. Hope it doesn’t last too long. I have never had to do more than that, but since I have just jinxed myself. we’ll see.
5. Do you judge a book by its cover? Shamefully, I do. Not 100%, and I will still read a book if I don’t like the cover, but there are certainly books that I added to my TBR based on cover alone, and books I initially shied away from based on the cover.
6. If you could live in one fictional world, what would it be? Is it weird that I want to say Panem? Yeah, that’s weird. But no, like, in the epilogue of Panem. I am hoping they still have some fancy stuff left in The Capitol though.CapitolGif
7. What’s one of your pet peeves in books? Um, you should probably just refer to this post.
8. When thinking about reading a book, do you research it and ask friends about it, or do you like taking chances and going in blind? Not completely blind, no. I think in the bookish community it would be really hard to even do that!
9. Which fictional character would you love to spend the day with? Peeta Mellark. But you are mistaking “day” for “eternity”. Get it together, Holly!peeta
10. Who is your favorite OTP (one true pairing)? Katniss and Peeta. Duh.tumblr_mwq38sa2FY1t3o5kho1_500

The next is the Movie Gif something or the other tag! I was tagged by Nobody @ The Story Goes…

And it is like she made her list just for me 😉 And in honor of that, we will be using exclusively Hunger Games gifs. Bueno? Great.

And this one is via Mallory @ The Local Muse! This is the “Liebster Award”.

I don’t know who this Mr. or Ms. Liebster is, or why they want to give awards, but I’m game.

Mallory asks me 11 Questions, and then I tell you 11 things about me. Because Jane Liebster’s favorite number was 11. Incidentally, she also loved riding horses, potato pancakes at the local fair, and the color green.

Mallory’s Questions:

1.What is the saddest book you have ever read? The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Because I still cry just thinking about it.
2. Do you write in your books while you read them? No, blasphemy!
3. What literary character are you thinking about naming your future children after? (Come on, I know you’ve got one in mind!) Okay, truth? I wanted to name my kid Finnick. It isn’t pure coincidence that his name is Sam 😉tumblr_nbyrasblQx1rz2cbjo1_500
4. What book are you really excited to start? This is too hard.
In my possession: 2179557618075234
Coming soon: unnamed (1)
5. What’s your favorite hot beverage? (or cold if you don’t like hot) Well, I liked iced coffee. And wine, and like, iced fruity concoctions. But, on a really cold day, a coffee or latte or something works for me.
6. What’s one of your favorite book to movie (or tv show or mini series) adaptations? Obviously, The Hunger Games movies. And though I haven’t read the books (yet), I do love me some The 100.
7. What TV show are you loving right now? The 100 is my current obsession.
8. What celebrity would you want to play you in a movie about your life? Want? Jennifer Lawrence. She wouldn’t make any sense as me though. Listen, I don’t think any celebrity would be interested. It’s not that great of a movie 😉
9. Approximately how many unread books do you think you own? Um, an embarrassingly large number, I am afraid. About 300 physical books, and the Kindle books has to be in the multiple hundreds. It’s bad.
10.  What are some of your favorite poems/ poets? I am not a big poem person. In fact, I don’t “get” poetry. At all.
11. What is your favorite board or card game? I have absolutely no idea. I used to play Rummy with my grandparents?

11 Random Things:

    1.  I am the nightiest night owl in all the land. Seriously, my body just functions like a champ at night, and basically rejects any time before 2pm outright. I just feel so much more me at night, and have so much more focus. I do stay up altogether too late, but meh.
    2. I swam competitively from age 7 through college. Really, I only stopped because there are no Masters teams within 100 miles of me. One day, I found out that Val @ The Innocent Smiley also swam, in high school! And, we both swam the 500 free, which is pretty fun. I think I scared her with my excitement of our shared swimming experience.
    3. I almost exclusively wear flip flops. Guys, I live in Pennsylvania and I don’t own boots. That is just weird. So I bought some, yesterday. But basically, this is my rule: Unless there is actual snow on the ground, flip flops it is!
    4. I am kind of obsessed with travelling. I mean, I am broke, so I don’t get to do it nearly as much as I’d like, but I just love travelling. I mean, I have to go to all 50 states someday, and as many countries as humanly (and fiscally) possible. Here’s what I’ve got so far: Create Your Own Visited States Map
Create Your Own Visited Countries Map
    5. I love sleeping. (Obviously daytime sleeping is best.) Who decided that sleeping cannot be a socially acceptable pastime? It needs to be.
    6. I have a weird obsession with The Real World/Road Rules Challenge. And for any of you who watch it, you know this is going to be such a hard season to watch. I have been watching it since it started airing in like, 1999 or some nonsense! (Also, part of me thinks I could win. Or maybe could have when I was in swimming shape.)
    7. I love taking pictures. I love my DSLR, even though I am mostly useless outside of the automatic settings. Every so often I play around a bit, but one day I’d love to learn more about it.
    8. Even though everyone says there is no difference, I find Aquafina water to be better than all other brands. I am telling you, it is not all the same. I can taste the difference. I can!
    9. I love spicy foods. I kind of see them as a challenge, really. So good.
    10. I spent a whole year of college taking random classes that sounded interesting. Also, they were only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And of course my parents weren’t impressed. Incidentally, that year I had my highest GPA.
    11. I sleep with a stuffed penguin. His name is Pickles, and he has travelled the world. Before Crash 12858

And finally, we have another Travelling Blogger Yaya Sisterhood tag, via Kayla @ The Thousand Lives!

  1. If you could only own (library is still available) ONE book for the rest of your life, which would it be? GAH. Can I call a box set ONE book? I mean, it comes wrapped together. See, they are in a BOX, as in ONE item. Foil-Edition-660x330
  2. Imagine you have $50 to the bookstore of your choice – what would your order look like? Like a Tuesday 😉 No, pre orders, I think. ALL the pre orders.
  3. What movie would you love to read as a novel? Ohhhhh good question! Here’s the problem: I don’t really watch movies unless they were books, or on the rare occasion, true life situations.
  4. You have one trope that will be included in the rest of the books you read: what is it? Love triangle. I secretly like it, even though no one else does.
  5. What is one book you absolutely WILL NOT read, no matter what people say, and why? Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. You may all love it, and that is fine, but I had never read it, and after finding out what a complete ass he is, will never read it. Yes, I can separate authors from their behavior sometimes. This is not one of those times.
  6. You can only pick one 2015 release to read this year: which one would it be?? This question is evil, Kayla. EVIL. It’s like freaking Sophie’s Choice over here! Um. Well, since I already mentioned a few others I cannot wait for, I’ll go with this: The Revolution of Ivy by Amy Engel.  It’s apparently only a two book series, so I will be needing this conclusion.
  7. What book would you reread right now if you could? Easy! See #1 😉
  8. If this were a well-ordered universe, which character would be brought to life and be your best friend? Whoa, tough call! Maybe Kenji from Shatter Me? He seems like a hoot!
  9. What’s the best book to movie or book to tv show you’ve seen? giphy (2)
  10. And because I liked Cynthia’s question, answer #1 from my questions! (1. What is one book/series that you really wish were a movie, and who should play the main character?) Well, so many are happening now, that it is narrowing down the field of choices! Rites of Passage by Joy N. Hensley. Who’d play Sam? I have no idea. Just let’s skip Shailene Woodley, okay? Isn’t she already in everything else?

Okay my lovelies, I am not tagging anyone in particular, but feel free to play along! Also, you’ve got to tell me a few answers to these questions, because well, it’s fun, and I love getting to know you all!

  1. Haha, your gifs are always the best! I did actually make sure to pick all three Hunger Games because I was tagging you, and you didn’t disappoint! =D

And wow, that is a lot of questions to answer all at once! I thought I was a night owl, but you’ve definitely got me beat! As for the poetry question, I love the idea of poetry, I don’t know why but I do, but I also don’t get most of it, like I like it from a distance or just the idea of it. I’m also the opposite shoe wise, I almost always wear boots because I love boots… =)

    • Aw thanks! Hahah yay, I am glad I kept with the Hunger Games theme then 🙂

I am a ridiculous night owl. If left to my own devices, I would stay up until 6 or 7, then sleep until 3 or 4. That is how my body would work. I read somewhere that it means I have a high I.Q. Lets go with that 😉

  2. Haha! Nope, I don’t know the song… Yes, at least I’m not the only one who won’t eat anything when reading, even if it’s the kindle. Katniss & Peeta <3

    No, God no. I can't.

I wouldn't be friends with anyone who wrote in their books while reading. I was sorting through my books yesterday and found my first copies of Harry Potter (that I bought myself through ebay with my own money, when I was younger) and I think one of them was a library one, and the other must've been another kid's because it had a 'Belongs to ______' on the title page, and I was just o_O. Coffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeee is obviously the best. I'm a little bit addicted. I get fun when I'm on coffee though, apparently. Especially when it's Irish *cough*

    The penguin!

Totally agree, out of all the adaptations we've had, THG has been the best ones, ever. TV show, I haven't watched The 100 yet (only saw two episodes, so I am giving it another after I finish watching Hawaii 5-0) but it seemed different than the books, but Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries (well, the first two seasons of VD) have been the best show adaptations for me. So much better than the books.

    • Well… maybe it is because it was a US thing? I mean, it was probably popular in like, 1994. And it was in The Mighty Ducks movies! Irish coffee would be ideal right about now. Or anytime 😉

The 100 started out kind of bad. I almost didn’t continue after the first episode, but it got SO good.

  3. I think I still have that album floating around my house somewhere. And I know all of the words to that song!

I really enjoyed reading all of your answers. And I absolutely agree with you about the Aquafina thing. Different bottled water brands do taste different. I’m glad I finally found someone else who agrees!

Fun post! Loved all the Hunger Games gifs 🙂

  4. #1 for my tags…. should have called it 😉 And #5 I totally understand. I read the book before I found out about Card and all his antics, so I’m most likely not going to read any more of his books. But I do love Ender’s Game, not gonna lie. #7 – Oooh love Kenji! I so need a reread of that series 😀

PREACH IT ABOUT CATCHING FIRE THAT IS THE BEST ADAPTATION IN THE HISTORY OF EVER.

    • Yeah, I mean, I get why some people like the book, and can put his shenanigans aside, but as someone who wasn’t interested in reading it before, I certainly won’t read it now! Just like I will never read a book by like, Kathleen Hale (which maybe I shouldn’t write, because god knows she is willing to hunt me down). And YES I need to reread that series. For Kenji, and the um, special scenes 😉

  5. I do know that song! I still listen to it sometimes 🙂 And reading from 1-4am? I feel you. That’s the only time I can read peacefully. I love to sleep, too, so that means my sleeping schedule is kind of messed up. I just pretend I live in a different time zone. LOL. Can’t wait for The Revolution of Ivy, too!

    • Hahah I pretend that I live in a different time zone too! I add it to the reasons I should really live in California 😉 And I love sleep too. It is too hard of a decision between sleeping and reading, really!

  6. I’ve heard of that song! I’m old too!

I don’t eat or drink around books, I’m too much of a klutz. Yes it is weird that you want to live in Panem. No way would I want anywhere near the world of the Hunger Games. lol @ your kid being named Sam, well that worked out. I have close to 200 books I own and haven’t read (and that’s only because I just cleaned out the books I’m never going to read.) See you’re not so bad. (or I’m just as bad)

Congrats on going so many places! I’ve been to like 4 states and Canada. There’s nothing wrong with liking love triangles. My weakness is forbidden love. I’m with you on Ender’s Game!

I loved this post! It’s nice to get to know you better.

    • YAY for being old! BWAHAH I love that you call me out on being a weirdo 😉

OHHH forbidden love! YES, I love that. Why do more people not love that!? I want that in like, LIFE!

      And thanks 🙂

  7. YOU DIDN’T SCARE ME WITH YOUR SWIMMING. WE CAN TALK MORE ABOUT IT WHEN I SEE YOU! And yayayayy Hunger Games haha! I can’t believe you’re reread it 9 times haha. I don’t think I’ve ever reread a book that many times. I WANT TO TRAVEL THE WORLD TOO. WE CAN DO ITTT.

Also, I’m young. I have no idea what song you are referring to 😛

    LOVE ALL YOUR ANSWERS SHANNNON

    • Hahha I had to restrain myself so I didn’t google your times 😉

Damn it Val, they play that song at sporting events and such! I mean, sure, it is probably older than you, but STILL.

And yes, let’s travel the world! It’ll be fun!

  8. You know, I figured The Hunger Games would be on here a lot. AND NO YOU CAN ONLY HAVE PEETA FOR A DAY DON’T BE SELFISH SHANNON.

You’re not going to read or watch Half Blood Prince ever? I just. What? *blinks* Have you seen the other movies or read any of the other books? I don’t know if we can be friends anymore if you say no.

Finnick is a great name. He’s still my favorite character in that series.

YOU ME AND VAL LET’S ALL TRAVEL THE WORLD TOGETHER. After BEA, of course.

You love taking pictures? Yay, then you can document our whole BEA trip! Because we are definitely taking lots of pictures.

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT ALL WATER TASTES DIFFERENTLY! Aquafina is the best, and it’s the only water I will drink. Unless I have to suck it up and drink something different, in which case ugh.

I hope you’re bringing Pickles with you to NY.

    • Ummmm. No. I read the first book, and I (braces self for attack) did not like it. So I haven’t seen the movies or read any subsequent books.

I am afraid to bring Pickles! And my DSLR, if we are being honest. I mean, what if I lose either one!? I WILL bring lots of Aquafina though 😉
