Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that we simply cannot wait for! This week, I chose Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales.

Pages: 288

Tonight the Streets Are Ours is a YA novel about a teen girl living in the suburbs who becomes obsessed with a blogger in New York City, and sets out to track him down in real life.
Why I’m Waiting: Well, on one hand, I find it ironic considering the ::ahem:: “recent events” involving blogger stalking. Though I think she likes this blogger, not wants to attack his opinions. So there’s that. And fine, I am judging a book by a cover. Cause it’s so pretty. Though I wanted to read this before the cover was revealed, it just sounds different, interesting, and involves a blogger. The fun!
So, what are you waiting for this week? And do you think the girl is kind of creepy for chasing down this blogger? (Spoiler: I do.)
I just love the title of this, the setting and the plot. it sounds really interesting! It reminds me a little of Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby, a book in which a guy is obsessed with this singer that disappeared 20 years ago, but he doesn’t go as far as to stalk him. He’s just obsessed with all things “this singer”.
I discovered this book weeks ago and I’m dying for it to come out! I have This Song Will Save Your Life, but I haven’t read it yet. The blogging aspect of this is also very appealing, especially given past events. I’m curious as to how old the blogger will be, I can see this being a romance if the blogger is around her age, but if he’s a bit older, I wonder if there’s just some sort of fascination/admiration with him.
Great pick, it’s definitely one of my most highly anticipating ’15 releases. Oh no, it doesn’t come out for almost a year. 🙁 I was hoping it’d be released around June. Gah, oh well. 🙂
Lol, love it! I’m adding it to my tbr list!
Haven’t heard of this one before but I’ll definitely be reading it! I love books that involve bloggers! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
This one does sound great… and I love the cover! It’s definitely going on my TBR. And it is a little ironic given some of the events as of late.

Such an interesting premise! I love the cover and the typography too. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
This totally sounds interesting! It’s funny that you mention you’re judging the book by it’s cover– it really is pretty!
Here’s mine (:
I agree, the cover is so pretty! Sounds like a heart-warming and fun read. Thanks for putting it on my radar 😀 Hope you enjoy it!
Yep, totally judging the book on the cover. But I don’t even care. 😀
Okay, but it also sounds pretty great, but a little more description wouldn’t hurt either.
Uuuuummmmm, yeah, that’s interesting… due to recent events, as you said. Well, I’ve never read anything by Leila Sales but given that drama from a few weeks ago, this book might be interesting. I hope you enjoy the book when you read it!
Have a fabulous holiday, Shannon!
Check out my WoW post!
Haha this book sounds pretty awesome and totally relevant to our lives. Also, that cover! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for this next fall.
I am excited for this one too! I love the cover!

I have to admit, I will read this simply because I loved her book This Song Will Save Your Life. I’m really excited to check out what else she has to offer. And yeah, that cover is pretty cool. Great pick!!
What, what?! How come I’ve never heard of this before? It sounds AWESOME, and yes, very timely. And hot damn I want that cover on my shelf. ;D Adding this to my wishlist ASAP! <3
The cover is amazing! This is the first time I’ve read the synopsis though, and I’m not so interested now… just seems too crazy for me haha.
Haha, oh man, I was thinking, well that sounds familiar… Which idea came first, do you think? We’ll never know… 😉 And if you’re going to judge a book by it’s cover, it might as well be pretty. THE COVER THOUGH. <3
I’m waiting for this one too!! Such coverly love and interesting premise. And it relates to us since we’re bloggers!! Awesome pick 🙂
I LOVE that cover! I don’t know if I’ve ever actually heard of this one before, so yay, I’m adding another book to my TBR list. I also find the idea of this one ironic, given stuffff. But I’m also excited because it’s about blogging! Awesome pick, Shannon. 🙂
