Weekly Shenanigans

This week, I finished. This week was kind of a mixed bag, in terms of reading. Creed was insanely disturbing. It was good in the sense that I was completely into it, finished in mere hours, and couldn’t put it down. I will be posting my review a little closer to its release date! More Than This was…. yeah. Listen, I am not going to review this book, because I don’t know how to actually do it without giving away plot stuff. It was a 4 star for me. It was really good, but a little more “oomph” would have propelled it into 5 stars. Falling Into Place I reviewed yesterday, so you can just check that out if you’d like!

Coming Up:
I am currently reading  and really enjoying it so far! Full confession: I thought it was set in Denmark (because that sounds like where the “Denmark Military Academy” would be located, right? True story, I was excited for an adventure in Copenhagen. Oops.) but um, it isn’t. In case you were as ridiculous as me when you read the synopsis.

Then I am going to try to get lots of reviews done. Because I found out (another shocker) that reviews are infinitely easier to write when you do them right after finishing reading said book! So, that is my new goal: Write reviews ASAP. But first I have to catch up!

So, how was your week? Any good books read or exciting news to share? Let me know what’s up with you, and hope you all have a lovely week ahead!

  1. I only had one good read. *sigh* I really need to STOP this bad habit of all meh-reads and then one 5-star-book-of-awesome. It’s not good for my reading enthusiasm. I’ve just read one chapter of The Knife of Never Letting Go and I’m a liiiittle confused….but hopefully I like it or hordes of angry fans are going to smack me in the head.
YAY FOR WINNING DANGEROUS GIRLS AND BOYS! That is awesome and they look so nice together, if a little tiny next to your other books. Good luck with Frozen! The beginning is awesome, it is, I promise. 😉

    • I am with Bookaholic- It starts of a mess, but it gets… oh my goodness, SO amazing. I DNFed it at first, and I NEVER DNF, until a friend begged me to try just a bit more, and the rest is history!

And I know, I am SO excited for Dangerous Boys- AND I will be giving away my extra copy of Dangerous Girls soon, so someone else gets to be left debilitated by it!

  2. I really like the Frozen cover, but I read a really bad review. Interested to see what you think of it!

Also, I just entered the give-away, so many cool new releases at the moment! Loved that little tidbit about Rites of Passage haha I didn’t know it before today, but I discovered it in a Friday 56 post earlier and it looks like it could be really good!

    • I have read some REALLY bad reviews, some moderately bad reviews, and even a few glowing reviews. So who knows how I’ll fall on this one. I am kind of curious just based on that alone 😉

And so far, Rites of Passage is SO good!

  3. I really want to read Dangerous Boys & Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas, I heard soo many great things about those books! I hope you enjoy them when you get around to read them, as well as the rest of your books!

  4. DANGEROUS BOYS. DANGEROUS BOYS. Oh man, how I love that book. We need more books like it, I’ll read them. All of them. MORE BOOKS LIKE THAT PLEASE? Insanely disturbing, I want to read Creed now, haha. Cult-ish stuff, right? But yesss Rites of Passage, so good. And Drill <3

(I’m replying back to your comment here because for some reason, along with others I had, they’ve disappeared- probably because of the commenting platform again, so annoying.) But YES, I want the Luxury Editions of THG, gold edges, and just so pretty, but postage is insane, booooo.) 🙁

    • Oh no, it disappeared again!? UGH. I am finally just giving up and switching to WordPress, actually. It is too frustrating to be bothered with it anymore. Someday, we will befriend some Australians who will send us the books for not insane rates, just cost 😉

And I know- I MUST read Dangerous Boys! And OMG…. Rites of Passage… I can’t! I have no words. I need to go finish it now, but I NEVER want to finish it ever EVER. I LOVE Drill. Love.

And yep, Creed has cultish stuff. I am trying to write the review now, but what do I even say!? It was scary!

  5. Oh, fantastic haul! I can’t wait to see what you think of Dangerous Girls, Dangerous Boys, I’ll Give You The Sun and The Madman’s Daughter! 😀

My week was fairly busy, but it wasn’t bad. My reading week however wasn’t the best. I’ve been stuck reading Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld, and I just can’t get into it! 🙁

    • I loved Dangerous Girls! I didn’t even know how to rate it though because… I mean, I loved it in the sense that it wrecked my brain!

Aw, I have heard that Afterworlds isn’t the best 🙁 It’s a shame, because the premise is so interesting. To be honest though, the Uglies series wasn’t my favorite either. I think I will be waiting a bit on reading Afterworlds. I hope your next book is better!

  6. I’m actually really enjoying Megan Shepherd’s books! I saw negative things about book one years ago before the book came out, so I waited until this year to binge-read books one and two. I have book three and OMG, the ending <3 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!!

    Have a fabulous week 🙂
