The Hoards of Books on my Spring TBR

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is: Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR List

Broke and Bookish, you funny! Seriously, this isn’t reasonable for all of spring! I will keep it to a minimum, but I can’t promise anything. I am going to have a few categories of books I would like to read. I will even give you the odds. And then, you can vote on which you deem most important!

Hey There Books- Get Off My Bookshelf!

These books have been around long enough, and it is time they are enjoyed! Since these are all books I have bought, the odds of me actually reading them are low.

I have a feeling this may win quite a few votes. I should read it soon but…

Odds: Low

I really want to read this one. I would be reading it now, but time.

Odds: Decent

I think I may need to get to this one soon, when I need some feels.

Odds: Decent

Another one with high vote potential that I just don’t know if I can handle

Odds: Low

Now that the Golden Son commotion has died down, I suspect no one cares if I’ve read this. Call me when Morning Star is out.

Odds: Low

Now that the season is over, I should give the book a go! Plus, Holly and I want to Snark From the Ark it.

Odds: Pretty Good

Another one where I am kind of wondering if anyone still cares that I haven’t read it? Guess I will find out!

Odds: Low

Calm down, world, this one is happening ASAP. Promise!

Odds: High

I have been waiting for this book for ages, but alas, I haven’t had a chance. Sad face.

Odds: Low

Same as the last book- I want. But time.

Odds: Low

Dear Book, I Must Review You!

These are review books, and the chances of all of these are 100%, unless the apocalypse finds me. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I have to start reading FAST.

  1. Red Queen actually disappointed me. I was so sad about that one! I can’t wait to get my hands on Rook, though. It looks promising, so I hope not to be disappointed again. Great list!

  2. Wow, you have a ton of books on your plate. I highly recommend Daughter of Smoke & Bone and A Darker of Shade of Magic. I feel you on The Book Thief – I keep putting it on my TBR, but I never feel like I’m emotionally prepared to read it.

It looks like you have a lot of great reading ahead of you.

    • The worst part is, this isn’t even the half of it. It’s bad news! I am excited for all of them though, which makes the choices even harder! And yes, The Book Thief scares me too- everyone just talks about how much they sobbed!

  3. Bump up Daughter of Smoke and Bone to I HAVE TO READ THIS NOW because seriously. It’s amazing. It’s absolutely in my top 5 favourite YA books/series and your life is lacking without having read it! I really want to read Mosquitoland too! Those reviews are amazing.

    Awesome list!

  4. You NEED to read Raven Boys!!! It’s sooo good! Also, Daughter Of Smoke and Bone is completely amazing, some of the best writing and the coolest world, so when you have time you HAVE to read it too!

There should be a support group for ARC requesting addicts…I think a lot of us would fit into that group. =)

  5. Your list is just full of awesome looking books as per usual! 🙂 I want to read so many of them. It’s hard to know where to start! Ha! I hope that you get around to reading these!

  6. So many great books, but yea time is low. I voted for Mosquitoland because I want to see what you think of it. But seriously, read Red Queen. Mostly because again, I want to see what you think of it. Never heard of We All Look Up, *goes to goodreads to see it*. Great list, my friend!

  7. Man, so many great books on your list! 5 to 1 and Things we know by heart are on mine as well. Book Thief has been on my TBR for a while. Don’t know if I will get to it this Spring but I will read it soon for sure.

  8. Well, it seems that ADSOM has the highest number of votes and THAT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE. I still have book hangover from reading that, honestly. Argh. (But so many fabulous books on there too — Book Thief is a must-read as well.)

    • Hahhahah I think it is definitely going to win. Which is good, because secretly, I wanted it to! I need it. I have not heard a single negative thing about it! HOw is that even possible??!

  9. O.M.G your list is AMAZING O.O I actually drooled a little lol. you put my list to shame and I want yours instead heehee.
you absolutely need to read every single on that is on your list and on my list I’m dying to read Velvet from Temple West I been waiting for this book for a while can’t wait to sink my teeth into it lol 😉
    Happy reading Shannon xoxo

    • Awww thanks! I should probably let you borrow a few, life would be a tad easier 😉 I WILL read every single book on this list. I cannot promise it will be in the spring, except of course for the review books! Hope you get Velvet SOON and love it!

  10. THERE ARE A LOT OF BOOKS THAT YOU SHOULD’VE READ BUT YOU DIDN’T. BAD SHANNON BAD. LIKE COME ON, LOW ODDS FOR THE RAVEN BOYS? THE BOOK THIEF??? WHY? DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. PLEASE READ ADSOM ASAP TOO. In fact just start them ALL NOW. And don’t forget to finish Throne of Glass!

I can’t believe you have already preordered all those books. How about BEA. Do you still have money for that? UNBELIEVABLE SHANNON I HAD FAITH IN YOU

    • I know, Val. I am a disappointment to my friends and family, and likely society at large. I have failed you, not only by not reading Book Thief and Raven Boys and DOSAB and ADSOM, but by spending ALL the money AND requesting ALL the books. But do not fret, dear Valerie, for I will be at BEA, come hell or high water. Never fear, a book junkie will NEVER have enough books. MUHAHAHAH

    • Ohh yay, I am so glad you loved Material Girls, I am so excited for it! And None of the Above sounds sooooo good, and I have heard nothing but great things! I hope you get to read it soon and enjoy it! ANd I hope we both enjoy Hit!

  11. I voted for Red Rising, because I want you to suffer… I want you to read it, crave for Golden Son, rave about it, flail about it, then suffer alongside us in our wait for the third book… bahaha! >:P

  12. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve only read two books from your bookshelf: The Raven Boys (I enjoyed the plot, but the writing not so much) and Red Queen (which I thought was WAY too cliche), but I voted for The Last Time We Say Goodbye since I just bought it and I need to read your review. 😉

For the review books: I also need to read (soooon) Hold Me Like a Breath and 99 Days. I’ve read and loved Things We Know by Heart and None of the Above. 🙂

LOTS of exciting titles in your pre-order list! <3

    • Hahah good reason! I really want to read it too, I am hoping it will happen sooner than later!

I am SO glad you loved those books too, because they’re literally the next two review books I am reading! This makes me happy 🙂

  13. Read None of the Above! It’s brilliant! I still have to review it, but I read it a while ago (the author is a customer in the bookstore I work in and she came in with an ARC a long time ago and it was way too early for a review). It looks like you’re just as ambitious as I am this Spring. There are so many books I want to read. I totally forgot about Material Girls and The Wrath and the Dawn. I want to read them, too. And Becoming Jinn. I should probably get back to reading (or get a time machine). Good luck getting those read!

    Michelle @ Michelle’s Minions

    • That is so amazing that she came into your bookstore! I am looking forward to reading it, I have heard nothing but great things! And right- there are SO many spring books! TOO many? No, never 😉

  14. I voted for Red Rising! because I’m quite sure you’ll still read A Darker Shade of Magic next no matter what, I vote for Red Rising to go next because it’s EPIC! (and maybe what Faye said…) LOL. many of your To Review && Pre-Ordered books are on my never ending TBR list 🙂

    • HAHAHHAH I love that! I like you are probably right, too 😉 Well… maybe. I also have Under a Painted Sky, which I didn’t even put on this list (because well, long story) but I NEED to read. But yeah, you’re probably right about ADSOM. I do promise to read Red Rising SOOn though! I need to get a physical copy, I think that would help me along.

  15. Wow, so many books.. Lovely post<3 I can't wait for 5 to 1, Ember in the Ashes and A Court of Thorns and Roses either. You should also check out Crimson Bound and Daughter of Smoke & Bone 🙂 I actuallY DNF'ED the Raven Boys it sounds so cliche lol happy reading x

    • SO MANY good books. Seriously, how do I even start! Though it is good to know you DNFed Raven Boys, that could be a good excuse for me to push it down 😉 I don’t honestly even know what it is supposed to be about, just that I own it and everyone says I must read it!

  16. I really want to read A Darker Shade of Magic.

I’ve caught up on all my review books so now I’m heading into the bookshelf vault and trying to clear out those books that have been sitting there for YEARS. The Raven Boys is one that we have in common.

    Karen @For What It’s Worth

  17. The Raven Boys! I read all three for the first time last year and smacked myself for waiting so long. LOVED them. <3 OH, and Until the Beginning is wonderful. 🙂 I need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone too! And I'm excited for End of Days (!!!!!) and Wrath.

    Great list, lady!

    • Ooooh you have read Until the Beginning!? I am a bit jealous 😉 I guess I shouldn’t wait to read The Raven Boys then! I will try to get on it ASAP. Once I finish all those review books. And I am so excited for End of Days! I have loved that series since what seems like forever! And thanks 🙂

  18. I plan to read Raven Boys soonish too. (And perhaps Red Queen) I think waiting for Morning Star is a good idea, that way you won’t have to suffer with the rest of us. I voted for Daughter of Smoke and Bone because I just love that book! I think everyone owns Darker Shade of Magic but me. I love your category titles by the way! 🙂

    • Aw thanks hahahha. I am glad that you did not vote for me to suffer for Morning Star, it makes me happy 🙂 DoSaB does sound SO good, and I don’t think I know a single person who hasn’t liked it… ugh. Decisions! Right now I am just reading a review book that I am having mixed feelings about, so I am CRAVING one of these books!

    • GAH I want to read An Ember in the Ashes so badly! And I can read Red Queen now…. but the decisions! And yes, I need ALL THE OTHER BOOKS. I need a reading week. No, month. Year?
