This Week At Midnight (49)

TWaM

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It gives us a chance to share with readers what we bought, borrowed, swapped, won or got for review each week. I also decided that since I do a weekly recap, it really is just good sense to link up with The Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

The Books

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

Via BookOutlet. There were also Berenstain Bears books but… yeah. I am also trying not to care that this Across the Universe doesn’t have the pretty cover.

Weekly Shenanigans

I read stuff.

18109771 and 22456905

I must say, I enjoyed them both! I think I enjoyed The Fire Sermon a bit more than I thought I would, and Twist maybe a tiny bit less than I expected, but I did really like them both.

On the Blog:

Still lots of time left for February’s Discussion Challenge link up and giveaway! And one week left in the February New Release Giveaway Hop! It seems so short because, well, February is short!

Fun in the Blogosphere:

Up Next:

Things. Stuff. Reviews, and um, talk about books? I don’t know. I have a lot of books to review, so it depends on which ones strike my fancy at that moment. (Fine, it depends on whether I feel like writing a glowing review or a not-so-glowing review.) And, I am going to be discussing the ever popular and controversial topic of ARCs, via the survey results!

How was your week? Are you as glad as I am that it’s almost March? Any new books?

  1. Ugh, YES, I’m glad for March. I don’t know why…but February has been draaaaagging along and the weather has been awful. Except, um, March is the start of Autumn and I’m not okay with that. BRING BACK MY SUUUUUUUMMER. *prances around like Olaf for a moment*

    • Oh yes, this is not fun for you lovely people in the southern hemisphere. I am sorry 🙁 Does it get very cold in the winters where you are? It was -12 here last night. I don’t know what that means in Celsius, but it’s pretty damn cold in Fahrenheit. (Okay, I googled, it is -23 Celsius. Sorry that we Americans can’t/won’t get our acts together when it comes to measurement.)

  2. Lovely selection of books this week! I’m looking forward to reading Across The Universe. Boo for your copy not having the pretty cover! The story is the same regardless, but I know how much us bookworms like a pretty cover! 😀 Enjoy your new books!

    • I am weird with contemporary in general, and I like stuff that is a bit out of the ordinary (which this seems to be!) so hopefully I will get along with it! Thanks, hope you have a great week too!

  3. I’m looking forward to The Fire Sermon. My copy of Across the Universe has the pretty cover, but shamefully, I haven’t read it yet. I did see that the Book Outlet (aka, the Book DEVIL) has the rest of the series for cheap, so I’ll probably grab those soon. Have a great weekend! Happy reading!

    • I LOVE “Book DEVIL”, how true is that!? I almost bought the whole series, but then I reminded myself that it’s ridiculous since I hadn’t even read the first one! Hope you have a great weekend too 🙂

  4. Is Across the Universe a sequel to something? Too many books out there with Universe in the title hahaha! YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE BERENSTAIN BEARS BOOKS FOR YOUR KIDS! COME ON SHANNON! Just kidding 🙂 You should bring up one book so you can read it to both me and Holly at BEA 😉 Ooooo you read Twist. I still have to read Loop, soooo. It will happen one day.

YAY FOR A GOOD READING WEEK. I’m trying to reply to all the comments now, so getting rid of that problem…slowly.

    • I DID buy them the Berenstain Bears! I just didn’t take pictures of them, because I figured none of you would care 😉 Please, i always buy The BBs! I will tuck you and Holly in with a BB book at BEA for sure. It’ll be so cute hahah.

  5. I feel like I missed out on half my week because I had a cold and didn’t leave bed for two days… I did rewatch Mean Girls like three times though, so at least I kept busy.

The survey results were so awesome and I can’t wait to see the post about ARCs. Hope you had an awesome week, Shannon! =)

  6. Great books this week! Several of them are on my TBR as well, so I hope to get to them in the near future. I also like how you have included your blog posts from the week, as well as blog posts from other blogs. Very cool! Happy reading!
